The fact this place is even considered a place of education is a prime example of our failing education system.
As a neuorodivergent person, attending Bathgate academy was an awful experience. There are so many terrible things I would rather do than ever go back now that I have left. Seriously. I would rather jump into a freezing cold river in the winter.
During my time in Bathgate Academy I developed a nervous tic disorder from the constant stress of my classes, and fell into quite a few bad habits to cope with the stress.
This so called school offers no support to any struggling student, yet it claims time and time again to be accepting of everyone and everything, regardless of their disabilities, sexualities, gender, etc etc, but in my time in this school I was exposed to several instances of homophobia, ableism, sexism, and more. And I do wish I was making all of this up, but I am not. The fact this place has stood for over fifty years is as much a miracle as God's return would be.
It wasn't even just the students either. Several of the teachers in this school are what made me dread coming to class each day, with how rude they could be, how demanding their expectations were. It got to a point were I was skiving multiple classes just to avoid seeing these teachers.
If you are considering sending your child to this school. DO NOT. Unless you want them to need years of therapy once they've left. Seriously. The building is crumbling, there are multiple health concerns, and the place smells like someone died. It should be considered a hazard to society, honestly.
Cannot wait for the day this place either finally caves in or is closed for good.
I got bullied at Bathgate academy I was told by boys that they would rape me in the toilets and if i didn’t let them they would take photos of me and post them all over social media I was also punched into a bin and dragged down the school stairs by my hair we spoke to the head teacher at the time and nothing was done my dad said he wants the police involved and the heads teacher says (the police just for that) the school is an absolute disgrace I got kept inside of the school for break and lunch for my “safety” while the bullies got to be outside with there friends, left in s1 and never went back just today I seen a post on facebook about a little girl in s1 being bullied, girls fighting her and taking her school bag and dumping everything out of it in the middle of the floor, that girl has a concussion and a broken nose n the school has done absolutely nothing about it this school really needs something put in place about there bullying someone has already took there life because of the school its sickening never in my life would i suggest or send my future children to that school, that school has caused so much trauma and scars that will never leave me im now in therapy for what that school has cause, i really hope in the future the school gets shut down or something gets done about it.
the headteachers and deputies are constantly ruining the school for no reason and making entirely unnecessary changes and it's infuriating for every student in here

Good riddance, Bathgate Academy.
