Darland High School

I used to work in this school and it's the worse place ever the kids treat the school as a youth club no respect for teachers or other members of staff glad I have left the headteacher needs replacing need someone with a bit more balls

Pupils claim that the teachers are self centered and dont care about the other pupils. Whenever a bulling has happened the teacher say "we need more evidence" even tho theres plenty of it, the teachers still dont care. and the ALN is just a disaster. The head of ALN doesnt know what shes even doing. if you tell her something like i feel depressed or i feel anxious she will tell you off beacuse on your medical paper it doesnt say that you have depression. She has lied to many pupils and parents that she will help them. Many teachers at this school left due the fact that the kids behaviour has gotten worse. also whats worse, during classes kids have to use 1 toilet which is really disgusting. Most welsh teachers in this school have left so every singel pupil is failing it. The headmistress only cares how the school looks like, she only focusess on uniform and publicity stunts. She also makes probably the most unfair rules towards the pupils. I think darland is just not worth going, the kids in this are rude especially the Year 11s, like bulling is everywhere in this school its so comman and no one is putting a stop to it. So if somone asked me a question is darland worth going? My answer would be no.

The school is terrible, teachers are always sexualising girls about uniform when there is nothing wrong with it and they all look like normal children not prostitutes as the teachers claim them to be. If you want your child to have unfair rights and have no choice to stand up for themselves or even be heard this is the place to go. This school is like a living hell.

Very adept at dishing out unlawful exclusions. Particularly if you are ALN.

Meh. They use collective punishment a lot which is not fair to the people who have done nothing and according to the 1949 Geneva convention, it's a war crime.

I have loved being at Darland, Teachers are so friendly and easy to get on with all in all this school is a good school and would recommend it, the new SHARP system is very good as you can leave anonymous messages so you don’t have to tell a teacher face to face but they will try get the matter dealt with. Personally from my experience of bullying or just little arguments the teachers do try and sort it out as best as they can.
