What the Estyn reports don't tell you is that many children in this school are very overlooked and not supported. Head teacher is very dismissive of parents concerns and many parents have no choice but to remove their children from this school due to unmet needs. It seems if you have an intelligent, high performing children - all will be fine. However, if your child needs extra support then they are overlooked. The management staff do not seem to like children with neurological differences. Has the potential to be a great school but they have no time or understanding of ALL children's needs.

Had 2 of my kids go through this school. 1 got on ok but he was very academic. The other was a different experience because he struggled so much academically. The head teacher definitely likes the ones that achieve stuff that’s fits her school image. I have my suspicions that my son is autistic but I keep being told he’s “fine in school”. It’s not the case. He hates it. As a parent the communication from the school is also shocking.

The school has a glowing Estyn report but the reality is, things are wrong. We’ve had a few children go through the school and the support for those who need extra support for developmental disabilities such as autism are not catered for. The Head Teacher and the SENCo actively work against parents to cause issues. I know a lot of people who have had no choice (myself included) to remove a child and send them to another local school who has a proactive and positive approach to ALL children. Its such a shame as there are a number of teachers there who genuinely care and even they get frustrated with those who are difficult. Such a shame as it could be a lovely and all all encompassing school, if it was run properly by someone who understood developmental disabilities and showed empathy.

Headteacher isn’t interested if your child isn’t neurotypical or high achieving. The Estyn report a few years ago was a bit of a joke. A small handful of good teachers but sadly the head and some of the other senior staff will crush them trying to help you. The SENCO is a waste of space. Communication from the school is dire too.

It’s not good at all don’t advise going there. Nasty horrible teachers
