Had the misfortune to be sent on a student placement a few years back.virtually no support from department
(left without supervision, which means that,if anything had happened, insurance would not cover it)
Only 3 meetings with “mentor” in 9 weeks (meant to get one a week)
Refused day off for family funeral.
Person writing report observed 1 lesson in 9 weeks, told me “class weren’t under control” yet then left me unattended !
Expected to take cover classes which a student should not.
Fortunately ,got more support after left and easily qualified -have also since me tired a student and would NEVER treat them like this.
Department (with a couple of exceptions) very cliquey and unwelcoming .
It’s alright, I’m not gonna say the staff do nothing about bullying cause they do and the people that usually say that don’t actually tell anyone? like obviously the staff aren’t gonna do anything about bullying if you don’t tell them. But like I said the schools alright, it’s not terrible like some people would like to make out. Have to say though that the demerit system is a bit random, and doesn’t really solve any issues. No one actually cares if you give them demerits.
