James Gillespie's High School

Excellent school with great teachers and support staff who really care and invest time in the pupils. The atmosphere inside the school is very calm, respectful and inclusive. The art dept. is particularly good. Although they don't have a big budget to play with, the teachers are lovely and encouraging, in a wide range of mediums and the end of year show was wonderful! The teachers guided our daughter in preparing her portfolio so smoothly, without any stress and she was over the moon to get into Glasgow School of Art.

hi! I actually have a nice Spanish teacher at the school sh3s lovely and the food there is BUSSIN I have a lot of friends there I’ve just started the new timetable it’s good bc I still have the same Spanish teacher

I literally get jumped all the time cause I’m friends with someone who talks bad about someone The teachers are racist drama teachers and math teachers in general I don’t feel very safe we found chicken in a muffin and string like a long white string and the food comes smushed or even like nibbles out of it.

very dirty school and bad representation of diversity in teachers and school accommodations. Good education and nice teachers, very hard on you though the first thing they tell you in S1 is how high their expectations are which, in my opinion, is just stress inducing

My son doesn’t feel safe within the school and the school can’t seem to do anything about it

I've had a great experience so far, only experiencing issues with some students who I didn't (still don't) get on with. I'm an LGBT person, and I feel very safe here!
