This school is actually horrible
This place is actually ass. Half the time they don’t even let you to the toilets and the teachers are a different thing there the most stubborn people ever especially the IT teacher in this place he’s the worst teacher I’ve probably ever seen

im not going to lie the school is very shit because all of the teachers like kids my first time coming in year 7 i was in he corridor seen two kids smoking a splif and i felt very scared because i thought the teachers are going to touch me one of them almost did.
Don't go to this sh!thole
This school couldn't care less about any of the students they say that they care about them but when they actually need help they don't give it and they will either kick the students out or just point blank ignore them. There are a small group of teachers there who genuinely care about the students but other than that no-one cares. The head is a joke all she does is sit on her arse all day and does nothing. Wouldn't recommend this school to anyone who wants to have a good childhood.
Crap school
Don't let you're kids come here it's the crappiest school I've gone to the foods alright the teachers always ignore you they buy stuff for the bad kids like 20 pound footballs but the good kids get bullied you go on nice trips but they cost so much most students are fed up and depressed there so strict about the uniform my friend had joggers on almost got sent to isolation it's such a crap school wish I could leave

Ysgol Nantshit. Sending my child to this school is the worst decision I’ve ever made I’ve made a good few in my time, she got tortured, I said Tra to her in the morning she was looking beautiful, came back half her hair fucking gone looked like she had Leukaemia, not to mention her uniform was half ragged she was sobbing her eyes out. Bully’s need to learn a lesson 😡😡. I contacted the school and the teachers was like a pack of wolfs, they didn’t give two flying fucks, they blamed my daughter for the trauma she experienced, now she’s going through therapy, this school needs to be taken down 😡😡 I am FUMING.

"worst school ever. If you're even considering taking your kids here, get that thought out of your head. NOW!! they will try and tell you otherwise but this is my experience as a student!! The food is RANK, the kids are STUCK UP, HOMOPHOBIC and RACIST. And the teachers just allow them to get away with it. Ysgol nant Gwyn is HELL on EARTH. The teachers are ignorant and useless. I'm so embarrassed that I even ALLOWED myself to stay here. What type of school tries to enforce a no bullying policy, only to allow it to happen under their own noses. AWFUL. Please teach basic science in middle school.
I left this school last year and now that I've been at my new school for a couple of months I've realised how they literally teach no science until year 10-11 at nantgwyn. Due to this I am extremely behind when it comes to the scientific curriculum as many of my current classmates have covered many topics from physics, biology, and chemistry in year 7, 8, and 9. So thanks a lot nantgwyn for having pointless subjects like 'caru dysgu' in year 7 yet barely having any lessons on basic science. Other than that, the school was barely average, better than many schools in the area however.
Honest review
Food was quite nice, the people not so much. Teachers are arrogant people who turn a blind eye to bullying. They obviously don't want to be teaching at nantgwyn and I don't blame them for that, but it doesn't change the fact they're extremely apathetic towards students who are being targeted. The school has a huge vaping and underaged drinking problem. Many students are struggling academically even the kids who have been put into 'top set'. I remember in 'top set English' a girl asked what a verb was, keep in mind we were doing gcses. We were struggling so badly with academics that at one point the teacher ended up letting our entire science class cheat on a test (In year 9 or year 8). The Science curriculum is flawed. They don't teach you proper science until year 10 and the sets below set 2 don't even start physics until year 11. This school struggles to accept any criticism instead they send out emails about what motivational quotes they should have put on a poster. When people started to make tiktoks making fun of the school they resorted to anger instead of thinking 'Hm why are these children unhappy.' Lower school to my knowledge is quite good, upper school definitely needs improvement though.

not a good school
Not exactly a great school, don't go there. Most kids here are just overall ignorant (when it comes to people being slightly different to them e.g looks, race, religion, sexuality, gender identity, disabilities etc) and are just rude. Also the school can't seem to deal with bullying, they make everything worse. Unless you're a white cis straight person who was born in the valleys and has 50 cousins, do yourself a favour and give this school a miss.
Decent school but needs improvement
This school treats students like animals due to current rules, with doors necessary for travel throughout the school being locked during lesson time. My doctor told me to ask for a counselling referral through the school and staff could not care less. Toilets are disgusting, with no toilet paper or soap. Looking past that, this school gets excellent results at GCSE and knows how to push students to their limits.

This school is terrible. They only care about you being there.. they do not care about any students or how your feeling’ I got bullied all the way through my school years in this school and they did nothing but blame me. So I took things into my own hands and contacted the police and the school made tbubgs so much worse for me.
