Doo doo

My experience with AGS was very bad

The teachers are absolutely off it and the dinner ladies and maintenance team are the only people keeping my sanity together

I got kicked out a classrooms permanently for farting (it was only 270 decibels)

AGS is not good cuz also the toilets reek with nazi symbols and n words and one time I seen poo off the ceiling dangling

Bad school stay away

As a former student the school needs to improve their standards in how they deal with situations such as very disturbing content and not act like these things are ok

Horrible

I went to this school when I was a kid and I didn’t want to go I hated it that much I stayed off, seems nothing has changed!! The reception staff are immature, I reported a student to them and they didn’t seem to care until I had to have a bad attitude with them back. My kids will never go here, always said that. No wonder a lot of their students are badly behaved.

Terrible school, has a few good teachers

The head of faculty and the head of behaviour are terrible and will punish you for the stupidest things ever, I literally got expelled because I repeatedly said a word that I was obsessed with at the time (not derogatory or offensive btw) also the students there are absolutely horrible. There’s only a few decent teachers

Rotten

The school is highly overrated. The lack of help and support for students is astronomical as you just get passed teacher to teacher. I am a former student that was bullied and as a result of standing up for myself I was threatened that if it happened again ‘it would not be isolation I would have to worry about it would be finding another school’ by a prick that had the worst trim I’ve ever seen. I know they want their students to look presentable unlike Outwood, Nunthorpe etc but there is no need to shame students for not wearing the applicable dress code. It is understandable if a skirt is too short but trousers with zips on. I had trousers with zips on as pockets which was spotted by a MALE teacher may I add, whom I’m aware still works there. So why was he looking down there? Exams are also there main priority, they are not bothered about anything else such as how you are treat by teachers or other students but care if you have a lucozade which has no association. When it comes to winter we are expected to stand outside in the cold, whereas they should have classrooms that we can sit in but no they are given to year 11’s as priority to revision. If we go in a building we get screamed at even if it’s just for a warm when our fingers are literally falling off. Hair colour and length as well as piercings is also a major priority. A lad I know shaved his hair off for charity and for put in isolation for it ? On our induction we were told we were allowed studs but we arnt as they are distracting. Hot choc with the head is also the worst as it’s basically just chocolatey piss and you sit there awkward as hell. To conclude that was just SOME of the horrible things that went on

In the middle

School is over all decent. However they care more about what you look like and what grades you get instead of your well-being. They say there is help there but it usually doesn’t make a difference. The school can be proper sexist at times. For example me and my brother came back from our holiday and we died our hair blonde. My hair was much lighter and brighter than his at the time. But, the school isolated him, put him in reflect for 3 days and told him he had to change it ASAP because it’s too distracting. However allowed me and other people with brighter hair to get away with it.(happened to many lads 2 years ago) The school honestly cares more about if your wearing/look like. If you wear jewellery, makeup, lashes, nail varnish, if your tucking your jumper in (your not allowed) the shoes u wear, the trousers you wear then actually teaching us things that we need to know in life. They tell us to express our selves and to be our selves when in reality they block everything from us that allow us too. They say it’s distracting and doesn’t help people learn but the teachers are there with 10 pounds of makeup on, hoop earrings, jewellery galore, hair dyed what ever colour, false nails on. They honestly don’t care, but if there the once teacher us and looking like that when it’s apparently distracting to others if we as students are, then obviously shouldn’t it be distracting to the whole class if your teacher is doing all the above ?????
However, most of the teachers are proper sound but you do get a good handful of them that arnt.

my experience

the school are very patronizing about mental health and barely care about any of your concerns. staff do not take you seriously and care more about the makeup/jewelry you wear then your education and wellbeing

Support is non existent

Not as supportive as they say with mental health! Most of their staff are very patronising
