Over exaggerates how good the school is

The school is..ehh
Most lessons are pretty good, but some bad teachers come in. DT is made extreamly stressful as all they do is scream at you for not hurrying up and keeping you behind for a good 10 minutes.Quite a lot of teachers arnt exactly good with students as I always seem to be sat with a bunch of irritating kids a magority of the time. Jacket potatoes are good and if you are going to this school just beware when you go outside, there are seagulls EVERYWHERE.The school is mainly a sporty school with a large amount of clubs but somehow never has the ones I actually like! If you are thinking of taking art, don’t bother, the school doesn’t care about it. The art department has only 2 teachers and the coriculum for it hasn’t been updated in ages, gcse students have been doing mechanical parts for 11 YEARSSS. Rules are very strictly enforced. Even if you check the time on your phone (with it still being in your blazer) the teachers would still take it off of you until Friday also you can’t get your phone out of school unless ur an adult. Like? Also if the headmaster is seeing this, stop accepting SO MANY PEOPLE INTO THE SCHOOL. I can nearly get to lessons in time because of the corridors, I feel like a god damn pinball. Ok I’m done. If there is another school you can go to, go there instead please.

DONT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE !

this school is horrible, you get picked on all the time and the teachers there don’t care about there students. This school doesn’t even deserve a one star if I could give zero I would. If you actually care about your child , DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS APPALLING SCHOOL.

Honest review from the heart

This school doesn’t care about the students they just care about making the school look good . They say they care but they don’t . Half of the teachers yell at you for having panic attacks because of them. There are a few good teachers, which I will name as mr spencer who cares about accessibility needs/external support and is kind and caring, mr Carey who is a joy but can be a pain at times and miss fisher psm of year 9 at the moment but then also we have miss paisy, miss fisher(food tech, miss dunleavy , miss esgaio, miss Kenny and miss mercer. They are all outstanding teachers, but the rest are satisfactory at best. This school is said to be one of the best schools but we’re just treated like a showroom not people and that needs to change.

great school but some of the teachers are freaks

most of the teachers here are amazing and only want the pupils to succeed. This can be seen through their attitude to teaching and everyday enthusiasm for their jobs. However, in my experience, the english department seems to have a problem when reading ‘Of Mice and Men’; they apparently can’t resist saying the n word which is concerning because as of me leaving the school (2021) there are no black english teachers.
The catering at Ashton is adequate and the selection of extracurricular activities is rich with sports, clubs and revision sessions.
The rules at Ashton can sometimes be a pain, as of 2022 if a phone is as much as HEARD it will be confiscated by a teacher and will be stolen until the next friday, which is such a weird rule.
Also the school has a problem with seagulls for some reason.
