Turnover of staff greater than the worlds biggest apple tart
I am deeply concerned about the school's leadership culture, particularly regarding the Head of Standards. Communications sent to parents consistently come across as negative, punitive, and overly threatening in tone, rather than supportive or constructive. This creates an impression of a school culture driven more by fear and compliance than by encouragement and care. It is also hard to ignore the possible effect this leadership style may be having on pupils. Attendance issues should not automatically be attributed to parental failings; in many cases, children are reluctant to attend environments where they feel unsupported, intimidated, or unhappy. That concern deserves serious reflection. The school has suggested that standards have improved under the Greenshaw Trust, but as this is the first GCSE cohort under that arrangement, it is still too early to properly judge those claims. If improvement is genuinely the goal, then leadership conduct and culture must be part of that conversation. A senior member of staff whose approach damages morale, alienates families, and contributes to a negative atmosphere is not raising standards, but undermining them. If the school is serious about improvement, it should review whether the current Head of Standards is the right person for the role. Avoid Barnwood Park if you can, unless you are comfortable with mediocre as the new norm for your kids.
There are quite a few people who get bullied, yet teachers don’t do anything abt it. Some kids, who r not nice, get away w it, the overcrowding is horrible, there is even some racism and zionism in the school which i think is REALLY REALLY DISGUSTING AND UNACCEPTABLE! And for me, well i had “friends” in the past who left me out A LOT, and now I hardly trust anybody. Don’t send ur kids to barnwood, they’ll regret it.
I would not recommend sending your kids here as someone who has went here my siblings also went here before me and my friend still goes there, the teachers who are supposed to help with mental health do not help, the school also gets really bad teachers who treat students badly the school has recently started working with Greenshaw academy after I Left and that is now making the school worse than before, fights have happened when I was there and after leaving some being extremely bad having to get ambulances called. Overall I dont think this is a good school to send your children to it has been this bad since when it was an only girls school and it's only getting worse.
Barnwood park is an OK school but can definitely be better as there aren't many places to eat food at lunch and quite a few people either haven't got many freinds or get bullied
The teachers are rude for absolutely no reason a lot of the times. They ignored a letter from my doctors saying I’m in mental distress and didn’t deal with my bullying problem for a year then aren’t now dealing with my sisters bullying problem. The teaching is alright I do learn stuff but the staff could be better. The food is alright but could be better
