SEN Department is a joke

Both of our children have attended Battle & Langton, and while the headteacher is very good, and the majority of teachers, there are a few there that have no idea how to deal with a SEN child. Unfortunately the school see fit to place children with special educational needs in with the same inexperienced teachers year on year. The years our youngest, who had ADHD & Autism, has been placed with a good and understanding teacher he has thrived, but otherwise he has struggled which has had a lasting effect on him.

The SEN department couldn't seem to care less, his mum has been pushing for an EHCP for years and we have got nowhere. Our eldest left there to go to Robertsbridge, and when they requested his file, there was hardly anything in it to do with his needs.

Our youngest is due to go to Claverham in September and we have had more communication with them regarding his transition and SEN than we have had from JC at Battle & Langton in the combined 10 years we have had our children at this school.

I'm sure if your child is neurotypical they may thrive there, if you have any thoughts that your child may be neurodivergent, then do not send them here.
