Double check your readings please!

Rude teachers, getting bullied from older years, literally make you wait for the toilet like what? And they care about wearing your blazers or like ask so many question why u weren’t in when u already called the school in? Also they r VERY I mean VERY manipulative.
I don’t get why people think it’s good when it’s not.

Bentley Wood

It is a predominantly Muslim school, and being a while jewish woman I have experienced alot of discrimination, such as people calling me a white b!tch and that "I should go to this school because I'm the reason they're not allowed in the country" there are alot of fights and disagreements but the education and teachers sort it out immediately, even though I've experienced this, I felt like my voice was heard and it soon stopped once I spoke up about it. Bentley Wood offered a huge range of extra curricular activities with a great English department.

This school utterly failed me

Horrendous.

I attended Bentley Wood High School starting when I was 12, having been considered a gifted child at my middle school.

Bentley Wood had serious problems with bullying, and no pastoral care. There was one specific incident of physical bullying which was so bad I ended up running out of the school completely and not coming back that day, and the school did not notice or care that a 12yr girl had gone missing and was alone in London.

One teacher was very pervy and would openly rub his hands on girls' chests and bottoms and look down girls' shirts, and when a group of us wrote a letter to the deputy head to complain about how uncomfortable we all felt with him groping us, we were all punished for it and no action was taken against the teacher. Again, we were 12!

I was academically gifted, very nerdy and introverted, and passionate about working hard and getting into a good uni (I actually went on to do a PhD and become an award-winning writer later in life, despite how appalling Bentley Wood was, which I think proves things.)

Unfortunately I was living in an abusive home environment, which Bentley Wood teachers ignored and took no interest in, even when I asked them for help. They ignored me coming in with very visible bruises and torn dirty clothes, or punished me for that.

One example, they refused point blank to accept any homework that is not signed by a parent, but I didn't have any parents and the man I was living with would have beaten me unconscious or raped me if I'd asked him to sign my homework. So I was constantly penalised and had high quality work rejected and go unmarked, purely because I didn't have a parent to sign it.

The school apparently never noticed or considered it a red flag that they had no involvement with any parent or guardian at any point during the time I was a student there.

I ended up needing to use crutches due to injuries sustained as a result of the abuse, and the school refused to make any form of accommodation (even little things like letting me leave class a few minutes early, as it took me longer to hobble to my next classroom than we were allowed - the time permitted between one class and the next was so short that if you had a class on the ground floor followed by one on the top floor, the only way to make it without being punished for lateness was to run) and basically bullied me into dropping out as they simply did not want a child like me in their school.

I stopped going to school completely at age 14, which the school took no action on and did not report to the authorities. I was allowed to simply vanish, and wound up at victim to sex trafficking which would not have happened if they'd paid even a modicum of attention to the concept of safeguarding and made an SS referral on a child who was very obviously being severely abused and neglected.

A really poor school - DO NOT COME!

This school is not good as you think, if you look at the Ofsted Rating: Outstanding! Trust me, it really isn't. All the teachers care about is uniform, punctuality and your commitment during lesson time, homework and learning. If you don't come to school, a teacher will start up her car and pick you up. All this school cares about is Ofsted, that's all they care about. It's a really dead school! It's awful and depressing! Don't come please, it will ruin your life, because it ruined mine. They don't care about Mental Health AT ALL, they don't even give you advice on how to deal with it, they won't support you, THEY DON'T CARE AND THAT'S WHY THIS SCHOOL IS RUBBISH!!!

Rubbish school review

it's an okay school, kind of boring but very strict about uniforms we aren't even allowed to wear a coat inside because the head teacher doesn't like it. I don't like how the teachers decided whether you do the higher paper or foundation I was in set 2 but my chemistry teacher wasn't very fond of me so she made me do foundation in my GCSEs I couldn't get over a 5 and had to pay a lot of money to do the higher paper somewhere else. I ended up getting a grade 8........

No support for mental health

They don't give you any help when you have mental health problems when you are actually struggling to come into school because of it. It's so unsettling for people with anxiety because the environment inside and how many children get bullied by elder year groups.I am experiencing depression at the moment because of not having many friends and im very sorry for the people who have a similiar struggle as me.
Im not sure this is an ideal school for your child, especially the children looking for a new school. I think the best choice is Nowerhill is a much better school because my sibling says that when she moved from Nowerhill to bentley wood, she says that she regrets her decision.I think this an acceptable reason why no one would want to go to this school.

Review of Bentley Wood

Teachers are really rude sometimes and not very understanding. Unless you come across a nice one. They’re not bad in terms of fights and stuff. They have occasional ones of course but unlike other High Schools in the area, not crazy ones. Most students are nice although bullying and peer pressure is a lot. Ask them EVERYTHING you can about any big decisions you make!! Like picking your options for GCSEs!! Get as much do you can gather!! Also, the uniform is REALLY strict!! They don’t even let you wear coats in winter when ALL the windows are open!! Just because the headteacher doesn’t “like” it.

The school isn’t that bad but it isn’t that great either. It’s average. Uniform wise, you can’t wear a coat during school hours and you can’t be seen entering the school with a hoodie which to me is a little extra but there’s no tie so thats a plus. Bullying isn’t as bad as most schools and there are barely any fights. However most of the students are pretty homophobic and transphobic but I guess that depends on ur year. To be honest its a very boring school. They don’t really help with mental health either but if ur lucky you’ll get a good teacher that actually cares.
