Bingley grammar

As a student doing GCSE’s i think that theres a wide range of teachers, some that are good, some that are bad. However i do sometimes question whether some are genuinely qualified to do their jobs. Don't get me wrong i have had/have some great teachers which i trust to get me the grades that i need and make my performing in lesson better, but some teachers cant teach properly or are blatantly rude, especially computer science teachers. I don't do computer science for gcse, but i remember all the computer science teachers that i had made me want to physically walk out of their lesson. Iam a well behaved student and i never have any reports of nasty behaviour to students nor teachers. And then theres some qualified substitutes that work at bingley grammar that just dont teach what the teacher has asked for. Substitutes like that are fun, but there not fun when you are preparing for gcses and need a suitable education. Theres also a massive issue with skyving, im not bothered about it as its not me thats doing it and im not a nosey person, but i cant help but see these bottom set people just skipping their lessons, i wonder how the hell there going to get to places in life. I also have an issue with some teachers “picking” on you in lesson, if i don't have my hand up then i don't know. If its someone thats “shy” than it just causes more anxiety for them. I wont lie, going to bingley grammar school has done well for me, in the past 7 months, ive gone from 3,4,5 grades to now 5,7,8 grades depending on the subject. It is an all in all good school for any parents looking at this, but theres some parts of the school that need improvement and thats why im here on this review thing just giving you a warning for your kids. Thanks besties bye🥰🥰

Bingley grammar school

This school is horrible for bieng bullied I’m a student at this school and teachers don’t support students verry well at all there are constant fights and little consequences consider B4 sending your children there as they might get bullied. In my school there are constantly people of “I’ll” and not able to come to school due to the severe bullying that we go through with little support from the school. The attitude from teachers not wanting to support students has an effect on us too. consider sending your kids somewhere else as this school needs a lot of work.
You may wonder why ofstead reviews are so “good” this is because we are told to behave differently when they are around so they can never get a true picture of our school.

i dont have a title thanks

School is good though needs a new behaviour policy. last year i was in a horrid class surrounded by people who say horrible things to you for no reason at all, I was disrupted around the whole class screaming, throwing stuff and practically bullied for the entire year, which made me not learn what i needed to learn. Most teachers just sit there and stare at everything going on and then give out “choices” which mean absolutely nothing. Then if the disruptive students get “conversations” or “detentions” they dont care at all, as they already have a messed up classcharts and dont mind staying for an odd 40 mins after school as there only in detention every week anyway, and the uniform policy is ridiculous . I understand to an extent the uniform rules, but the school tells you off for wearing the simplest things. I want to feel comfortable around school and i dont want to be wearing something that makes me feel insecure. They also need more support for year 9 and 10, they need to be getting year 9s into what there going to be getting into for the next 2 years after, because itll all just come to a shock in year 10. and they need to care for the year 10s abit more, getting them fully focused for there mocks as its not just a normal test, Some teachers understand everything about teaching though some teachers i question if there even qualified. They need to separate the bad kids from the ones who actually want to learn, as i dont feel like disruptive students are learning anything. I sound right nerdy right now though you can have a nice laugh at this school but i actually want to get places in life and some people just make it a living hell for you to learn sometimes. School trips also need to happen more regularly, i havent had one school trip throughout my entire school and have only been offered flamingo land, which is unfair as people younger went skiing last year . Food is average though many reports of food poisioning and uncooked food and some food staff are lovely and some are so unfriendly. Toilets are bad though its an old school so fairs , toilet people are nice but can have abit of a shout sometimes but understandable x

Don't go here

I’m a student at bungled grammar, do not go here. People are horrible to eachother, always bullying and fights and girls being horrible to girls. Staff are appauling, I got a detention for going on my phone at the end of the day which you are allowed to do. Very strict teachers and the staff will act nicer in front of parents than they actually are. I wish I could’ve gone to beckfoot but I’m too far away. It’s getting to the point where the school is making my mental health bad. I warned you, do not go here.

Bingley Grammar School Review

Parent of a year 7 student, I think the school has been excellent and done whatever it can to support and nurture my child. I think it’s extremely difficult for schools to cater for so many diverse personalities on top of the attainment driven targets set by the government. There will be times when the school maybe falls short of expectations, however I do not have unrealistic expectations as a parent and I believe that the teachers and senior leaders try hard and do the best as they can in a very difficult ever changing environment. The engagement with parents has been great, I can track my child’s progress in class and see what has been taught and what homework is due. There is a lot of rules and I am sure some parents and children may find it difficult, without rules we have chaos though. I struggle with the education system as a whole to be honest and I do believe standardised testing is the wrong approach, however that is the way things are. I hear a lot about the difficulties with mental health in school and this is a sensitive issue. I work in mental health services myself and I see the effects of poor mental health on children and adults on a daily basis. I try as a parent where possible to provide my child with a solid base at home and I feel this helps, however I understand some children may not have a secure base at home and if this is true, the school environment from a social aspect could be really hard. Teachers are in an impossible position and I have so much respect for them, they have targets to meet attainment wise and a diverse class of multiple personalities and I don’t as a parent feel they will get it 100% right all the time. Bingley grammar school is not expected to parent my child (that is my job) the school is expected to give my child an education based on government guidelines, it is also meant to provide a safe environment for my child however when you have so many children in an environment of different ages it’s is not easy. The retention of staff at Bingley is really high which is also a sign of a good working team. Keep going Bingley I am impressed.

disgusting and authoritarian school of unlikeable "people"

Past student of this school and my thoughts on this school are all awful. Firstly the biggest issue is the staff, mostly the higher ups who enforce ludicrous rules that are so authoritarian that they make the soviet union look like a wonderland. Mr western should be downright ashamed of himself for running such a disgusting school full of thieves who ostracize anyone who shows some modicum of skill that doesnt relate to the academic work they are forced to listen to rather than learn. When I attended I was stolen from by the teachers multiple times with potentially over a hundred pounds worth of stuff taken from me. School is meant to be a place to learn the real world yet If anybody had stolen from me in the real world I would have them arrested. I wish I could have some of these "teachers" arrested as they have left such a mental scar on me for just being myself but because they dont like that I'm punished to sit and do nothing in their isolation rooms for days on end. What a waste of my time and a waste of space those "people" are. Disgusting.

It’s just stupid

I mean I’ve been there for 4 years going into my 5th and honestly it’s nothing special and certainly nothing good. I guess the education is ok, but they really rely on you memorising everything in your own time rather than putting effort into teaching you it thoroughly at school. I’ve seen this throughout all my years there and it bothers me so much. They put so much faith into top sets like me especially to be able to plan out our whole school years with revision timetables while managing things people might have at home or other clubs. They give us absolutely no support in revision or exam preparation apart from random practice assessments with questions we have never even practiced before. It’s honestly shocking and made my life a hell of a lot worse. As well, the teachers are useless and just make you feel bad about everything unless you get it perfectly correct. They also have no support or exemptions etc for people who have conditions/disorders where they need help learning or have difficulty concentrating in certain environments. I have autism and I find it physically and emotionally uncomfortable in a classroom full of loud people but if I ask to use headphones and explain why nobody does anything and gets mad at me for asking to do something they’ve said not to. There definitely should be exceptions. Yeah honestly it’s just shocking how they expect every single person in that school to learn in the same way and have the exact same needs as the next student. I’m sure a lot of schools are like this and it needs to stop. My final thing to add which also probably goes for a lot of schools, we are in no way allowed to express ourselves, yet they go screaming out “be yourselves, don’t let anyone stop you”. It’s ridiculous because if I wanted loads of piercings I wouldn’t be allowed because is “disrupts learning” even though I’m just trying to be me. They’re so confusing and I hate it. The only thing damaging my learning is that I’m constantly made aware of how much I dislike the system and how uncomfortable I feel when teachers constantly go on about certain things that make them sound like pedophiles. Thank you

Wouldn't go to this school.

They do things that don't benefit the school what so ever, and when they mess up something, they blame it on us students!
