Extremely poor management and quality of teaching. Non existent homework and if there is any snow albeit light, the school is the only one in the Borough to remain closed for days. During covid, the online provision was very poor or non existent. As a parent you try to give your child the best start in life and you'll be making a big mistake if you send him/her to Blackwood Comp.
HORRIBLE SCHOOL
Horrible school all teachers are Horrible or lazy I have been harassed and hit for being black or part of the LGBTQ I have been called many homophobic/racist words non of the teachers have done anything about it the food is Horrible and overpriced, a goddam bottle of water is 1.60 who is paying a pound sixty for a bottle of water that is warm anyway the head teacher is Horrible and mean and everyone is disgusting the toilets are revolting the classrooms smell like paint, body odour, and piss all the time DONT GO TO THIS SCHOOL

I hate this school
I’m a student in this school and I wanna Jill myself so I’m dispraxic so I struggle getting dressed between lessons and climbing the stairs and stuff like that and I get screamed at by the teachers when I try to explain the food there is shit if you get a lunch time detention you only have 11 minutes to eat your food wich is horrible half of the teachers are ignorant and the only nice teachers to me is my form teacher and history the support in the school is shit half of the teachers blame everything on a bad night sleep or something like that and literally offers no help none of the supposed to be supporting people in the school does not care about your mental health at all I hate this school very much and I wanna move but I can’t
absolute joke of a school
never go to this disgusting excuse of a school (if you have the choice to go somewhere else). anywhere is better than this place. most teachers are inconsiderate and very unprofessional. i have, on multiple occasions, heard them swear/been sworn at. the only departments i can really rely on are history and some tech teachers. the others are lazy, repetitive and overall rude. as a student who joined in year 8, a teacher got very aggressive at me for ‘not bringing my book in’ when i didn’t even have one. it was my first day there. the teachers don’t even give a crap about your mental wellbeing until you tell one of the school councillors you want to die. they freak out and give you ‘support’ for a week or so, if you could even call it that. then they don’t care again. people have been bullied for being lgbtq, black and disabled. countless racial slurs get thrown around daily and once again, the teachers don’t seem to give a crap. toilets are absolutely disgusting too, never cleaned properly and just locked so nobody can use them. the headmaster is obviously not capable of running a school and the pupils just run riot and do whatever they want because of it. if you can convince your parents to let you go somewhere else, please do. it’s not worth it.

Don't go there at all I got told to kill myself by one girl got beat up and people kept on saying haha do you cut yourself I still go there now I'm in year 10 I still deal with this daily and when I told the staff they just said just avoid them they even do it when I'm walking home now I couldn't avoid them and it's horrible staff don't take you seriously the food is awful and the head teacher is up her own arse

Writing this in one of my lessons here right now so I can share a few things. My biology teacher is awful, we have never learned anything and for the past three weeks, we have had supply teachers. The people here are awful. And then there's the food. Most of the time the pasta they serve is soggy, the chips are awful and tasteless, and when they offered ketchup, salt and vinegar (which they don't anymore), you had to pay extra for a pathetic amount. The year I came here, there was a new headteacher and she had no experience whatsoever. The next year she change the uniform and forces us to wear blazers, she also brought in a room that can get you suspended if you talk three times. However there are a few teachers that are actually good, the history teachers are decent, the computer science teachers have been ok, but most of them are terrible. If you don't want an education, come here.

Avoid at all costs
Absolutely terrible school, bullied for all 5 years, became a social outcast, only 8 members of staff actually supported me and others. The headteacher and her close underlings don’t care about the place, would lie to you and your parents about the littlest things if given the chance. Not once did I go to the toilets in any of the blocks and there not been yellow puddles on the floor and what I seriously hope was melted chocolate spread along the toilet seats and flushes. Instead of cleaning them, the staff would lock the doors till later. Massive problem with smoking, bullying, cleanliness and seagulls, god damn seagulls everywhere. The amount of staff there that would offer support is embarrassingly low, I could count them on 2 hands but the majority of them left. The only subjects taught well by staff are history, computer science, biology and that one class where you hide in the bushes and smoke. Medical room is a joke, just a small room with 1 bed, a sink, cupboard (empty) and a fridge with ice packs and some milk incase you are thirsty. Food options are fruit (banana, orange or apple), terrible pizza, water and moist bacon and beans baguettes. All the other stuff on the menu is never available. Overall, absolutely awful and I wish anyone foolish enough to go there good luck, you will definitely need it. Also, if anyone who is reading this is in that hell hole and they are now serving chips, leave them alone, seriously, don’t try and eat them, they are stiff enough to take out a filling, trust me, I learnt the hard way.
Just amazing
Amazing school with the amazing teachers (especially the ones in science). Food is nice. Help is available when you need it the most. Overall amazing 5 years at this school!

Awful, 5 years of bullying, made my depression worse and anxiety, no one does anything for you, the only time they will care about you is when you are dead. That's the truth. Don't ever go to this school

My experience there was terrible socially, I was harassed and threatened to be stalked, I was bullied incessantly for being LGBT and most teachers didn't care at all. Mental health care was terrible and there's just a handful of teachers that truly tried to help me.
