Look somewhere else

Horrible school. I joined in year 8 and other students made me feel like a total outsider because I was from London. During my time here I suffered racism ( which the school genuinely did nothing about) verbal & physical bullying and my phone got stolen. My head of year was awful and out of his depth. He did nothing to resolve any of the issues I had. If I had to take out any positives it would be that I had great teachers. Especially in English, maths and computer science. But that’s all overshadowed by the crap time I had here. Genuinely don’t send your kids here, especially if you’re an ethnic minority. Racism happens regularly and the school do nothing about it.

No support

Through my school life, there’s obviously been some drama and incidents at school, but a lot of the teachers aren’t willing to take your side or help you unless you have a disability or mental illness. Yes, I think it’s good that they are considerate of those with disabilities or mental illnesses, but when you’ve had bullying problems with someone and the fact that they have anxiety means that they get support and not you, is rather frustrating. I remember going to my head of year and confiding in her about a situation of which I no longer wanted to be in school because of how hard it was getting with the bullying and she basically told me that the bully didn’t mean it because she was struggling with anxiety. I’m sorry but you get absolutely no support unless you fit into that category, so long story short, if you want to get away with bullying someone, say you have anxiety, you’ll get away with it.
