As quite an experienced student, I know a lot of these reviews are saying that the school tears down your mental health, etc but hear me out.

Simple rules such as having your lanyard and tucking your hijab in or wearing no jewellery can sound stupid, but it is for our own good so that we are safe at all times. I think many students misunderstand and forget rhe simple concept and meanings to these rules. They are so easy to abide by and students dont have to worry a single bit.. its only a handful of girls who want to wear makeup or jewelry to fit in trends or be popular. These rules are good to help you in the future as well, as when we will go to college, university, jobs etc, we are well prepared. We are too young to be thinking about makeup and jewellery, shouldn't we be waiting till we're a little older? 💀💀

Today's society is actuallu so so judgemental that we forget the real purpose. We are only going to school to prepare for our gcses and future, and once its done then we can enjoy the little things in life like wearing jewelry and makeup.

Many teachers work really hard to actually teach students and help them to learn topics well. Yes, some teachers can teach less well than others, however majority teachers work well and do their job to make sure we get our work done efficiently. Some students might have bad experiences as they are most likely the one at fault, which is why they dislike some teachers. And homework amounts are given depending on what year you're in, and the older you get the more they give you as gcses get closer and closer.. it is for our own good.

And yes, it takes some time to complete it, but if you think about it, GCSEs are like the most important test of our life, and our future relies on it. The more better you do, the more doors you open.

The food at the cantene is decent, most of the days of the week have food that is nice but there are a few days that they make food that's disgusting, (depending on how picky you are, but im quite picky lmao) which is why they are many more options like a panini, or sandwiches that are pretty good. I personally enjoy them.

I think that a lot of students worry about things that are unnecessary, and that they should be looking more into their future to actually realise how important school is at this stage of their life. I think they see some things in the wrong light, and forget the real reason for certain decisions.

If I'm completely honest, I think that majority students are better than other schools, as some people I know have completely changed, or forgotten why they're really at school and change their future path for the bad. Here there are a handful of students that don't focus at school, but majority aren't bad at all.

I am only a student but I'm not biased towards them, as there are definitely things they could improve like the size of the school, and hijab material as they can be distracting and annoying and many more. xx

I hate this stupid school if they confiscate something you wont get it back till end of half term you have to tuck your scarfs into your blazer yu have to have permission to take off your blazer
You can even get a detention if you wear the wrong colored socks yu cant even have your phones with you what if theres an emergency and school wont ring home then what school meals are disgusting and cold theyve even split year 9 into two groups so if all your friends are in the other group tough luck your gonna have to be lonely the teachers do not care about you whatsoever theyll make students annoyed or cry and they wont care and then when teachers shout at a student for no reason and the student will answer back theyll get in lots of trouble
You cant wear jewelry not even tiny earrings even if theyre hidden under your scarf and if you do they’ll confiscate it and like i said earlier wont give it back till end of half term and they only take it off some students and if you get in a fight theyll put you in so much trouble but there is this one girl and they dont say anything about her and no one feels safe around her i could go on and on but theyll already be annoyed at this if they see it

The school itself is visually nice but the teachers are quite rude and give detention for absolutely no reason and they don’t even let you reason with them

worst school in bradford teachers are rude and claim their very understanding but will give straight away detentions and no warnings wont comminucate properly with the students nor parents and then kick the child out if they do not listen to a staff member when on the system that classes as a warning

not impressed the food in canteen is really unhygenic and teachers are really offensive to students .

This school is disgusting in ways I cannot even describeeeee! The teacher are phsycotic like they actually need help!!! You get detention for any small little thing you do! Everything’s shit. U come late to lesson like 1 min late they give you a detention, and for asking why I have a detention you get a 1 hour detention! They ring parents for any small reason a they start to exaggerate. They ruin ur mental help an this is the cause why students don’t want to go to lessons an deal with these teachers which begins putting grades down. Going into tht one lesson literally means coming out with a whole hour detention an a phone call home. It literally isn’t the students fault cause it’s the teachers! And the head of years are supposed to support us but they r jus shit an do nothing there is literally no reason for them to be there. THE FORM TEACHERS ARE JUST RIDICULOUS THEY NEED TO BE SACKED

My child attends this school and I advise any parent NOT to send your child to this school. From start to Yr 10 I have had nothing but misery! My child got bullied in first year I went in to speak with the year SSO. SHE did absolutely nothing! Was told I will get phone call to update on the matter, nothing never got in touch. Detentions are given to individuals and if anyone is near that individual they will also get it even if they haven't done anything wrong! Teachers are bullies, soon as they find out if a child has misbehaved they will never let it go and pin anything wrong on the child not giving them a chance to explain or see that they are even trying! I have rang in countless of times to speak with the current YR10 SSO and get told shes either busy and will call back or has gone home! Never do I get a call back! She has actually told my child off for coming home and telling me 'stories'( when they are actual facts.) And making the school look bad! Absolutely ridiculous!! The head doesn't want anything to do with any parent query so you are directed to the the Yr SSO who doesn't ever get in touch!! Poor poor management this school either needs qualified, respectful teachers who can handle situations in the correct manner or to be shut down!

Your probably reading this because your planning on taking your daughter here. Well I'm only going to warn you once, DO. NOT. TAKE. HER.

Unless your planning on punishing her, I'd say it's best if you send her anywhere but this school.
Here's a little context for ya:

This school may be the "amazing", " outstanding" and "perfect" school for your child, well believe me, it's not. If anything, it's the exact opposite. I don't want to sound mean when I say this (I do) but I would move in a heartbeat, No Offence! (Take great offence).

The reason why is mainly because of the people. And I'm sure many would agree with me when I say that LOTS of the students here are total jerks. They will bully you for having a different religion, pronoun, sexuality, ANYTHING.

I mean you can't even catch a break.. They will laugh at you and spread rumours like they have nothing better to do (which they don't) and I have no regret when saying I absolutely despise this school.

DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE TEACHERS.
The teachers are just as bad as the kids, believe me. They will not give a care in the world if your being bullied. The most they will do is put them in isolation and then let them carry on after 💀. Even if you complain to the teachers, they will pretend to actually do something, and then the next day they will literally forget your name (experience.) I personally believe this school is what a 4 year old would think prison is.

Now..the food. The meals are disgusting. And I'm not kidding, it tastes like left over prison food that even the teachers may refuse to eat 💀. Don't get me wrong, the drinks and snacks are decent (sometimes.) But overall, the rice is always undercooked, the chicken doesn't even taste...real.. And the people at the back of the line are lucky enough to even get a scrap.

Even the rules are horrific..
I mean- Getting a detention for not bringing your lanyard in? CHILL OUT. It's a simple mistake.. It doesn't mean we deserve a half hour detention after school. this doesn't help our "mental health", if anything, it scares us. We spend more time doing homework so we don't get a detention...hope your proud.

Even in lunch, if we don't bring our lanyards then we are sent to the back of the line. Bro.. It's not even a big deal. Just let us eat man 💀.
You do realise your basically punishing by starving us.

You also expect us to hold our bladder while in class? "You should've gone at break" well I'm sorry but our bladder doesnt have a certain routine Xx. Plus we are all women, we have something called a period..? I mean, if you want us to bleed the school down then that's fine but it's your choice if you want us to get an Infection.

This school likes to think it follows it’s own police’s and procedures when it comes to students but the fact is it doesn’t talking from experience having a child in year 7.

Not a good school it could be a lot better

DO NOT GO HERE ITS TERRIBLE. As a student who has been here for a long time this school is terrible for many reasons like dress code(no nail polish ,no jewellery even earrings and a really strict uniform also scarf has to be tucked in to your blazer) and tiny hallways and the staff make you feel like prisoners. We have to be in silence when we are lining up (WHAT KIND OF SECONDARY SCHOOL MAKES YOU LINE UP WE ARE NOT IN PRIAMRY JUST LET US GO INSIDE). If we talk we get a comment in our planner and if you get two comments then you get a detention after school. This is not a normal secondary school at all it is a prison. Also the building is so many floors (there are 4) and we have to use stairs whilst also having a backpack carrying 6-7 books and holding our PE bags and food tech bags too. Also this school is just not good as a school in general they try so hard to be a normal secondary school but they are not. Also the school has a tiny school capacity like 150 students per year the school is so small yet they accept more students. The cafeteria is tiny and if you are at the end of the line you are lucky if you even get food also if you forget your card you have to go to the back of the line we have such little time to each like 10 mins each year group and at break if you are extremely hungry and don’t have enough money on your card they take the food of you and say your in minus you can’t buy anything. Its not a nice school at all and you are not even treated like normal human beings. Also the school is on the main road so there is a lot of traffic for parents and there is no space to park up anywhere if you park outside the school you are forced to move your car rudely whenever you are outside and its embarrassing lining up like prisoners and knowing that stranger can see you. I can rant about much more but the school will probably read this and ignore this but the main thing is DON’T COME TO SCHOOL WHERE YOU GIVE YOUR OPINION AND BEING TOLD TO SHUT UP.

The teachers are the worst if you want them to spit in your face then join the school.They do not listen to anything you say and when you say your opinion they tell you to shut up. They have no respect what so ever and the rules are to over exaggerated. if I wear my coat I get in trouble, if my scarf hangs down or not tucked into my blazer I get into trouble they say they care about your mental health but they are the ones who cause mental health. It’s like a prison, actually worse than a prison. We are not allowed to go to the bathroom during lessons (we can’t control our bladders). If you get caught in the corridors during lessons time even if it is urgent you get a instant detention without them even asking why we aren’t in lesson, also if you feel sick they expect you to do sick in the bin at the back of the class room. my grades were so good last year but now that we have some different teacher they have gone very low. It’s is freezing outside and they expect us to take off our coat, do they want us to get pneumonia? Yes (If we miss school, they start dying). The dinners are not cooked thoroughly and when told they blame it on us. If you are at the back of the line you are lucky if you get any food (never enough), if you forget your card you have to go to the back of the line. If you have any issues and you go to your head of year he will say I am busy at the moment but in assembly he says you can come to me always and we can sort it out ( I don’t know why he is lying in front of other teachers).

As a student who has been in this school for 3 years, starting my 4th one in a few days, I personally think this school will slowly destroy your child's mental and physical health.

When I first joined in September 2019, the school rules didn't seem that extreme to me, they were manageable and understandable. This was all good until a bit later in the year, many student would often get scolded by teachers for not spending 'an hour' on each homework. Think about it, maths, science, English, geography, history, art and probably one other subject, that's 7 hours of homework a week. I know it may not seem like much but the homework was always difficult and time consuming. It didn't give students a chance to actually live their life. It just wasn't homework that made this school horrible. Teachers also set unrealistic expectations for students and would pick the tiniest things that they did wrong and make a deal about it. These teachers have no care for their students and would often humiliate them in front of the whole class/other students. I mean if you want students to learn, picking out their wrongdoings infront of other pupils isn't going to help.

When we returned to school in September 2020, the teachers once again set unrealistic expectations for students, mainly prioritising the year 8's. This is very understandable because as the eldest in the school you want them to set a good example to the younger years however this soon turned into an act of 'favoritism' because the year 7's would often swear at members of staff, come in the incorrect uniform, wear makeup, wear jewellery, not attend lessons and much more but they would never get punished for it. This made some year 8's act out since they're still children and still understand the whole concept of secondary school, not to mention their first year was highly distrupted by the pandemic. Thankfully this year came to an end and me and many other students prayed and hoped that the next year would be a lot better.

In September 2022, the school year once again started off unfairly, the year 7's and 8's would come wearing their face caked with makeup, wrong uniform and loads of jewellery on but nothing was ever said to them however when a student from year 9 wore makeup or jewellery or came in the incorrect uniform they would be asked to remove it (jewellery and makeup) or given a detention. A few months in to the school year, they came out with a ridiculous rule, 'you can't talk in the corridors and must have your planner in your hand at all times,' if you spoke in the corridors, you would get a note in your planner. If you receive 2 or more notes in one week that would be a 1 hour pastoral detention. When it came to choosing our GCSE's, we had very limited options and were told that their was a possibility that we might have to change out options because it won't work out on the timetable. Horrible!

After our break and lunch we have to line up in our classes and our teachers would come and collect us and walk us to class. They do this in primary school. Whilst we would wait for our teachers, our head of year would blow a whistle, when that whistle was blown we had to hold our planners in the air above our heads. This is just stupid.

Overall if you want your child to get a good education yet have a social life I would send her somewhere else because this school is filled with teachers who don't know how to teach, then shout at you for getting low marks on your test. You practically have to teach yourself. This school is also really bad at solving problems. I see bullying happen every day infront of me and even if the teachers are aware of this they won't take action. They act really 'sweet' and 'kind' when we have any visitors and there are multiple teachers who give us worksheets and just expect us to do it and get it right. They put no effort in to try new strategies.

The building itself is pretty small and during lesson change over the corridors get very crowded very quickly, and when you go to your lesson you get shouted at for being late. They prioritise 'really smart students' and 'really naught students' they couldn't give two craps about the rest of the school. They don't care about mental health and dont let you express yourself.
Honestly, if I could give this school a 0 rating I would. Would not recommend!

The cafeteria is tiny and doesn't make enough for everyone also we have such little time to each like 10 mins each year group and your legs and back end up aching by the end of the day. Its not a nice school at all and you are not even treated like normal human beings. Also the school is on the main road so there is a lot of traffic for parents and cars are driving past whenever you are outside and its embarrassing lining up like prisoners and knowing that stranger can see you. I can rant about much more but my hands are tired now. BUT ANYWASY DONT GO TO THIS SCHOOL ID YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE A HUMAN AND WANT TO HAVE A NORMAL SECONDARY SCHOOL EXPERIENCE I ONLY CAME HERE BECAUSE THIS IS THE SCHOOL GIVEN BY THE COUNCIL I APPEALED FOR OTHER SCHOOLS AND THEY GOT REJECTED. DO NOT COME HERE.
