Terrible school

Teachers aldont want to teach. Children who need to be led on the right path or need some support are just suspended. Teachers speak to parents like their something under their shoe, so can imagine how they speak to parents. The school is trying to hide all issues and put blame on pupils rather than staff. This school has a bad name. Until the school admits its the teachers and not the pupils that are the issue. The school will carry on going under. I have now had to home school my childccas i as a parent could no longer cope with the way the teachers were trating my child and myself. I am not a parent that is out to bad mouth,a school but dont send your child if you want them to get an education. Was the biggest mistake i made. 2 of my children went there and i hoped it would have change over the years. It a terrible school thats not willing to change. The staff turnover is worse that a call centre.

Not safe. Dangerous

Please don’t sent your child here, if you want to send them to this school because it’s close to your house or conveniently 20 minutes away, don’t bother. You’d be better off going to another local school. Why? Because this place is dangerous, about last month 2 students brought knives in, teachers found out, students were searched by police. Even though nobody was hurt, they could have been. The school literally just told one of them that it was ok and not to do it again. And the corridors at lunch/break/class changes? That’s a whole different issue. The school was not built for 1000 students, and as of February 2024, that’s how many students there are (give or take a few). This means the corridors are crowded and dangerous, expect for your child to be hit into walls or shoved over. Then there is lunch and break. Too many student not enough time, I myself have had multiple injuries and panic attacks because of how horrible it is, being shoved into a corner by a crowd of students as the chattering of students and teachers shouting yet doing nothing was too much. And when I saw a crowd, I mean it.

Please. If you care about your child and their future don’t send them here (we barely ever get taught by real teachers, even if youre preparing for GCSEs.)

Ways the school need to improve

The school is amazing however I do feel like there is space for improvements. For example the amount of space in the school. At the end of each lesson u can't even move with the amount of students in the hallways, and there's going to be even more students next year. Some students don't eat at lunch or break due to the outrageous cues (mainly on Friday's). Another example is that there isn't a lot of interesting or fun clubs that students want to take part in. Don't get me wrong but although there are some good clubs like dt club, chess club, science club, and even classics club (which has only just started), there's not enough for everyone to enjoy. Thirdly, some of the members of staff can be just rude or quite miserable that it creates such a negative energy for some students that they then find it troublesome to be educated

vile behaviour from teachers

i am a school leaver and honestly, i didn’t have the worst experience here but it was hardly a good one. for the first few years i don’t remember much being bad at all, of course there were asshole kids but you will get them anyway. there was no stress relief provided through covid, nor were there any guidelines given to us, year groups were merged and classes were sometimes also brought together due to supply teachers. one of my gcse courses i picked to do was health and social, and all throughout that course, up until my gcse year i had a supply teacher. i managed to pass the exams with good grades however some weren’t as lucky and i blame that entirely on the school not bothering to find us a teacher.

for behaviour amongst the students there are racist, ableist, and homophobic students who express their thoughts openly. they degrade other students, invalidate them and constantly make their school years hell. now whilst this isn’t necessarily the teachers or schools fault they could at least try to stop it. their ‘no bullying’ saying doesn’t really show at all! teachers can’t handle the ‘naughty’ or the ‘popular’ crowd so they simply ignore them. i remember one of my teachers in maths a year or two back sitting there, doing nothing if not making conversation with the entire class about something completely off topic whilst another girl in my class sat there for the entire hour telling people to kill themselves. my blood boiled at how freely these students were allowed to speak like this and the teachers didn’t care. instead i got in trouble for talking with my friend because ‘they could handle students like me’ quiet, working, behaving students. they’d like to take what they couldn’t handle out on us for reacting. it was, and excuse my language, a piss take.

i personally struggle with my mental health. i’m not going to go into great detail about it because it’s not something i wish to easily share but many teachers were aware of my situation and what had been done. one day i wasn’t doing too well and needed to speak to my safe guarding officer. so i did just that, as i would any other time i’m struggling, and rightfully so. i was waiting outside her office (it was break time) but unfortunately she was on a call so she told me to come back before next lesson started. so i did. as the bell went and everyone was on their way to class, i waiting outside her office again, visibly struggling, i was pinching at my arm, crying, breathing heavily. when another teacher appeared and asked me what was happening. i told her that i was waiting for the safe guarding officer, bare in mind like i said i was visibly struggling and this teacher was having none of it. i kept telling her what i had been told to do but she didn’t agree at all. she ended up physically pushing me out of the way. when i came back an hour later my safe guarding officer had advised my mum i should go to hospital. i ended up in hospital till eight o’clock at night.
this shows how ignorant teachers are. i hope that teacher felt bad once she realised what had happened because she really really irked me in that moment. and i hope she sees this too.

teachers you are blind to your students struggles, you constantly praise mental health and that you will do anything you can to help. but clearly not. you obviously couldn’t give less of a shit about your students and it’s honestly appalling. you make friends with the students who are arrogant and rude and treat them like they are the most precious thing on earth. yet the students that actually try and want to succeed in life you step on them like they are shit on your shoe. sort it out, because i would never, ever treat a child the way some teachers treated me. you are vile.

Appalling.

This school is absolutely appalling. The amount of times in my time being here, i have been hate crimed and bullied and there was never EVER anything done about it. My friends had racial slurs threw at them and i’ve had homophobic slurs threw at me. In classrooms with teachers who just go “No enough of that” but as soon as someone swears it’s “Get out. I will speak to you in a minute”. Why is someone swearing more important then inequality in this school? Do not get me started on a certain maths teacher. Who taught us all the same shit every lesson. And refused to listen to certain people who actually wanted to pass. Now look at us all in that class. All failed maths because of the teacher. Yet the class above majority passed. This school adores the bad kids. and let them get away with absolutely everything and focus their time on them instead of the people who actually want to go somewhere in life. Do not send your children here you will absolutely regret it. If they do end up going here send them to UTC when they have the choice.

Horrid school

Let's start off with bullying. The amount of times the school has said that they don't tolerate bullying is unreal, yet they just give someone a detention for bullying other students. Even worse, people shout slurs across the classroom and 9 times out of 10, no teacher bats an eye. However, when someone does as little as say "sh*t" when they hurt themselves, detention. Next is uniform. The uniform is so unnecessarily strict. First off, the year 7s HAVE to take a bad with the school logo for their first year, and the only explanation to that was because of "bullying". I also find it absolutely ridiculous that the full uniform costs around £500, and the head teacher said that the reason they wear uniforms and have no none uniform days is also because of " bullying". Because apparently: "people will get bullied for not having the trendong clothes". Stupid, yeah? Now for the food, they have loads of unhealthy food for the children. I'm pretty sure that the healthiest food they have is are apples and a salad that consists of lettuce and cucumber. Absolutely disgraceful. Your kid would go apeshit if you sent them here. I hate it.

Do not send your child here

Personally it's the worst place I think I've ever been in my life. When I was there I had mostly supplies up until my GCSE's. Behavioral problems there are discusting with the teachers rewarding bad behavior sending them home when they misbehave. Students don't listen to the teachers. Going to this school caused so many problems for me I had to take therapy.I hated every moment I attended anday have been the worst years of my life. So no I wouldn't reccomend sending your child here.

Shit Show

Schools a massive joke, did not do a thing when someone i know reported this boy for racist, ableist, and homophobic language. All the teachers a freaks and they have done fuck all about covid, year groups are still mixing and the teachers favourite the popular kids. What a joke. they care more about your coats being on inside than peoples health’s.
