Castleton Primary Leeds

My son started reception in September and I am extremely happy with the school. He. Is thriving and loves his class. The staff are all very supportive from what I have seen and always available to have a quick chat and tell you about their day. Behavioural issues are resolved quickly and appear to be very effective. The school is very diverse and this is embraced wholeheartedly. My son is biracial and inclusivity is very important to us. I’m so glad we chose this school and would recommend it to anyone.

They have funded breakfast club available to anyone and after school club provisions are very good and flexible. After school club runs until 6pm for working parents at £5 per hour and breakfast club starts at 7.45

Wonderful, supportive school

This school really and truly cares about every single pupil, and work really hard in a fairly deprived area to ensure that families receive support they need in order to support their children's education. The staff encourage, nurture, challenge and create positive role models for pupils - it really shows when you attend school events such as assemblies, music shows and the annual Christmas pageants. The 2 co-head teachers are so supportive and spend a lot of time out of their office, observing and teaching and spending time with the pupils across KS1 and 2. The school has a very high SEN population and the school has created a purpose-built Tree House specialist provision on the campus, where children can have a break from the classroom when required for overstimulation, one-on-one support and etc. The school also goes out of its way to provide pupils and their families with amazing experiences that many would otherwise be unable to experience - such as the Polar Express experience, attending Leeds United and Leeds Rhino games, school residentials at the seaside and Lineham Farm, to name a few. They also provide summer clubs, half term break clubs, and supply meals to children during term breaks who would normally receive a free school dinner. You couldn't ask for a more supportive school with caring teaching staff and senior leaders.
