Cecil jones get you’re act together

The school is terrible there are some very nice teachers but the head teacher and some of the staff are uncomfortable they want you to basically be a robot they don’t care about you at all as long as they’re school has a good name they don’t care they sent letters to parents stating lies about our kids thinking we will believe them over our own blood the head teacher supposedly asks girls to bend over so he can check under their skirts another teacher used to drive girls home rlly late at night and tell parents they were lost they scream in they’re face if you’re sick they don’t care and say wait till after linch and when it comes to that point they tell them there’s only one hour left you can last they don’t let them go toilet either shame on you 😡

terrible cecil jones

The school itself is an abundance of rude teachers, poor education and quite frankly a terrible school for your child. my child comes here and is bullied by the isolation teacher miss amar. after reporting her numerous times and providing evidence nothing has happened. my child was excluded because of this.

Getting Better!

I've experienced my years 7-11 here.I first started in year 7 in 2015- it was less than good, but since Loxford have revamped the place it's really starting to improve. Made great friends there, and most of the teachers are genuinely brilliant and always there for you. They were like parents to me. The dedicated staff is definitely the highlight of the school. The creative departments are good, drama has a great theatre, music is amazing, could use more funding though as a lot goes into sports. Compared to other schools it is more homely and tight-knit than any of the other huge schools in the area. Obviously it's located in a dodgy area, so you can't escape some types of people that go there, but it's something you have to deal with. The school strives to give every child an opportunity to improve themselves.
The sixth form is small but in the top 10% of the country's sixth forms, highly recommended!
The school has had a rollacoaster of a time over the past few years, but I believe it's definitely on the up now. It had already improved greatly since Loxford took it over. It struggled with funding for many years, which means opportunities were limited. But I think as long as you revise and stick to the curriculum you can't go wrong. Can't wait to see what Cecil can achieve in the years to come. I miss it so much. Even the dinner ladies- they are lovely! And so are the caretakers. I miss it all!

From a former student's pov who left in 2020.

I got excellent grades going to this school, the teachers were always friendly and helpful and they genuinely want the best for you. They support you with extra lessons and resources if you're struggling or need help and want to improve. The safeguarding team are wonderful and are very helpful and will offer you support and guidance whenever you need it. The lessons you are given are packed with everything you need to get the best possible grades. There are a wide variety of extra curricular activities such as sports and the choir. The school offer students a wide range of opportunities and trips that will not only interest them but will benefit their future goals and aspirations too. The school choir is one of the best choirs in the borough and have competed multiple times locally and nationally. The school does everything they can to make you feel comfortable, safe, motivated and content. Despite what Ofsted said about this school 2 years ago and what newspapers have said this school is amazing and the Ofsted report is outdated and isn't a true representation of what the school is really like now. Ever since the school changed trusts there has been nothing but positive changes and a wider range of opportunities for students and the behaviour has improved massively across the entire school. The teaching quality has also improved drastically and astronomically. If I was to have a child or a family member or a family friend who is about to go into secondary school this would be my recommendation and I'd encourage them to pick it as their first and only choice 100%.
