Worst school ever!

I DO NOT recommended attending this so called ‘prison’. At lunches all of the corridors are locked off as-well as the doors so once you are outside there is physically no way of getting into the building until the end of lunch!

You are made to share a total of 8 toilets and 3 sinks (which never have soap in) between a rough estimate of 1250 students and non of them ever have toilet roll in, doors on the cubicles or even toilet seats?! No basic hygiene throughout this school whatsoever!!!

There is no seating anywhere around the school or outside!

No matter whether you are 2 seconds late or 50 minutes late you will always receive a lunchtime detention which takes up 40 minutes of your lunch, bearing in mind there is only 45 minutes of lunch, leaving you not even 5 minutes to get lunch. By the time you join the lunch queue there is never anything left but apples and bananas. Sometimes not even that! Due to this many of us went hungry for the whole school day and ended up with a short attention span😡

The food at lunch has no ‘colour’ involved. It all looks dull and grey, and whenever you get a chicken burger it is never even cooked?! The middle is always pink causing lots of kids to have food poisoning and salmonella. As someone who isn’t vegan or vegetarian 90% of the options are vegan and this isn’t good enough for a society of young growing teenagers who need more than plants for lunch. The only meat-eater option is the chicken burger that is always under cooked. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

The only somewhat decent part about this hell like prison is some of the teachers. However NOT A SINGLE ONE of the teachers in the whole of chase terrace academy is invested in the students well-being and mental health. All they are bothered about is getting the top grades in the area so that they can have more money. No wonder this school is one of the 5 worst schools in Staffordshire?!

Lesson after lesson after lesson for the past 6 months we’ve had supply teachers day in and day out. There is never any actual work supplied to us and we’re just given a textbook to copy out of. If they think we’re supposed to pass our GCSEs with textbook knowledge then they can JOG ON!

The bullying here is so bad! The school do absolutely nothing to solve bullying issues. I’ve witnessed many cases of people being pushed and shoved into lockers, being pushed into roads whilst walking home, even being stabbed in the neck with a compass?! The behaviour and bullying at this school makes you feel distraught and full of disgust inside.

If you forget a tie or any piece of your uniform you have to hand your phone in and if you say you haven’t got a phone and hide it somewhere they will pat you down and search you until they find it. THIS IS NOT APPROPRIATE 🤬

Finally (well not really cause I could go on forever), DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY, TIME AND EFFORT SENDING YOUR KIND, CARING CHILDREN TO THIS ASYLUM!

Terrible

I am a student at chase terrace academy, and for the three years I have been going there nothings changed. Bullying and harassment is accepted, and teachers are scared of pupils parents. A very poor school with sub after sub. The school has no hygiene or cleanliness the toilets, often dirty, food over the toilets, and a horrible smell 24/7 the teachers are extremely unprofessional and have no filter to what they say to the children. For me I would 100% not recommend this school to any parent or student. (Especially that needs extra support) head of school is good but that’s it. A very very poor school

GCSE

Overall, reasonable

I think the best part of this school is the teachers. Any teacher would give up time to help you, and most teachers do. They really care about the students that try, and have no issue in telling off kids that are being disruptive, or annoying.

The part that this school falls short on, I think as a student is student voice. They say that they listen, but the people that listen can't do anything about it. (e.g. a language teacher can't change the uniform), also many of the teachers don't agree with the school policies, and are inconvenienced by them.

The meals are very bad. If I want a vegetarian lunch, the only option I have is pasta with sauce. This might be personal opinion, the the pasta sauce isn't nice. They don't have healthy options, and most of the food is beige. They serve burgers without any vegetables in it, and sometimes the meat is pink.

The higher ups/head of years (well, mine anyway) are not very disability consious, and are homophobic and transphobic.

The school as a whole is very accepting, but year 7, 8, and 9s will always have something to say about it🙄. Clubs targueted to LGBTQ+ people are held, and there are a coupple of queer teachers in the school.

Chase Terrace Review

In my opinion, the school overall is amazing but that's just with the appearance and the sight of the school. The amount of care is horrible. They only care about kids getting work done and what they are wearing. "Representing the school" shouldn't cut it.. they need to start caring about people being potentially bullied, struggling with mental health and how the people feel because it is just not on. Are coats on inside the building more important than at least 1/8 students getting bullied. You would get in more trouble for not doing your homework than punching anyone in that school. And it isn't everyone, in my opinion the teachers and staff are lovely but to improve I would say that they need to stop spending so much time on the learning and help the children who are mostly all teenagers now who are at the stage where they will need help and try to support them. You're teaching teenagers not adults. They need to start understanding that they aren't going to be "mature". They are still legally children. They're at the age where they are not necessarily dumb but not mature yet. They are going to do stupid things but we need to teach them to change. A detention will not change anything. I learnt that the hard way. So overall, they are an amazing school but they need to take the time to help the students, not punish them every time you don't know what else to do.

Some great teachers

As a student I agree with many of the reviews I was bullied to the point I wasn’t eating and they did nothing, I also went through a lot of mental health issues due to school and they did the bare minimum, they care a lot about what girls can and cannot wear, especially the length of skirts, the only thing I liked about school was some teachers who cared a lot more than the head of school did and my friends

Do nothing about bullying.

As a former student, they don’t care about the students mental health. they are far too obsessive over what girls can and can’t wear, when they should be caring more about how many kids have left because of bullying. The teachers are insensitive to the students needs and wishes, plus for three years i had supply teacher after supply teacher and barely had any idea what to do.

Overall, it is not a recommended place to go.

Secondary education

Here and there

Care about grades too much. Been bullied so much i was on the edge and not wanting to fo to lessons it had to get to that point that they did anything. Some of fhe teachers are amazing others well just dont care. If you know your child has any type of learning disability i wouldn't send them here they don't really do anything to help or to make your child comfortable unless they are causing problems. There can be students crying in lessons and go completely unnoticed its disgusting honestly. It is just an average secondary school.

Do not go.

This school cares more about the students grades than they do for the mental health of students and overall happiness of students. The teachers aren’t professional and overwork students into mental breakdowns. If I were you, I’d think twice about sending your child here as the higher up authority in the school do not care about the bullying, harassment or healthcare of the students. Please, for the sake of your child/children, don’t send them here.

unprofessional.

the staff lack professionalism, they aren’t caring for any students, they bully students into mental breakdowns, overall this school is bad! If your looking for a better school in the area, EDA would be the best option!

If I could I’d rate this school 0 stars on everything.
