This school as the worst phone ban ever, there are a few people who are diabetic but are barley allowed to use their phones to monitor their glucose, we have not been told IF these students can use their phones as of mental health but we will write another review as soon as we find out.
As a former student, in my opinion the school in itself was pretty good. It's better than other schools but could find better schools. There is always rubbish laying around and constant bullying although the school has recently banned phones so that should help that situation. The school is very inclusive and supportive to everyone. There are a minority of 'misbehaved' students but most students are well behaved. On the whole it's a fairly decent school and I would recommend it if you have no better option.:)
This school doesn't go much with mental health, they offer counselling but it's only once a week, they give students detention for the stupidest things ever, for example, the student stated they they had more important things as for, mental health and helping around the house, and this student had a detention even though mental health and helping around the house is a lot more important than homework (especially mental health). This school also says that they offer support by their pastoral office, but every time a student goes to the pastoral office, they get turned down and there is no one there to help the students. In my opinion this is the worst school and I wouldn't send any of my kids to that school in the future, especially with the history that I have had with this school and the history before I was in this school.
Where to start? I was a teacher here for over a year then students are AMAZING but the staff? No
There is simply a lack of care for education bullying from staff is rife and mismanagement is up to the eyeballs you have O chance of any help whatsoever from staff especially if you are unlucky enough like me to cover longterm here. The PE department especially one particular female teacher it beggars belief how she has a job in education really does it's going to be interesting to read the exam results as the school methodically gives up teaching in March which is a crying shame to the pupils there. Serious questions and revamps need to be done here and now with the recent report that Thier finally banning the use of mobile phones makes you wonder if that will be the excuse for poor grade performances. I pity the student who comes here truly do they deserve so much more than what Thier given and don't get me started on the admin team here isn't it funny that admin and reception always think they're bigger than they're job role? Regardless of where they are they always seem to be above the pay scale and job spec
I wouldnt recommend going to this school. Very few teachers were actually nice to me. They tell me to report bullying, did report it, and they thought keeping me on one block isolated from everyone was the key? Well no, it didn't work. That's why I moved to treorchy comp. They don't listen to you there. And I'm usually a very honest person and usually on the teachers side, but this time is a no. They should be ashamed, I've never give a review this bad about this school. I'm never going back there
