Ridiculous

My daughter goes to this school it's outrageous! The new phone rule about handing it in to reception and letting parents pick it up it's stupid , what happens if they were looking at a message a family member sent and it's important. It's ridiculous. Also this school does nothing about bullying, dealing with situations. My daughters friend was getting bullied (I'm not going to name who) but they calling her names all because she got her hair cut short. The Pso's did nothing about it except tell the bully to stop. Don't go to this school it might look nice but it's really not, your children don't get treated fairly , don't get the best education. I don't recommend do what's best for you kids and this isn't it!

Don't fucking go hell on earth

I'm a young trans man. I've struggled with bullying at cromwell. (Shocking 🙀) I've made multiple reports about said person but nothing has been done. The coming school year (one commencing Tuesday 5th September 2023) they have put said boy in my band. The statements I made were in depth and each had a witness. They did fuck all about it, all they did was tell me they will sort it out yet nothing was done. Said boy has constantly misbehaved and nothing been done about him. He has made school a living hell for me. I dread going to school because of him and live in constant fear at school just incase he's gonna find me and beat me up, harass me more or threaten me.My form tutor said that she will sort something out. (Nothing has been done) He's made fun of me constantly, he deserves to get expelled but the school won't do it. To list some of the things he's done,
Harrased me
Asked me personal questions
Made a joke on what I wear under my trousers.
Tried slapping me but instead did it to his friend then made fun of me for flinching(I'm obvs gonna flinch you cunt)💀)
And not to mention he vapes in the bathroom. So many people have been SA'd at the school and nothing has been done. They claim to be LGBT supportive but nothing has been done about the bullying due to my identity. Don't go for the love of god

Communication

Communication with College is very poor. You have to chase them several times before they reply to emails. Communication is very good when you child is in trouble.

bad school

The only good thing about this school is the janitors as they are lovely people and understand you more then the people who get paid to help you because I think they care about is pay day and that is it. Heads of years do nothing but shout at you for no reason. They kick you out of school for 3 days with out saying any reason to why. All the school cares about is trying to look good for your parents and the public. If you ask any student in this school I am sure that they have attempted to end them self because of the lack of care in this school. If you want to find out what hell would be like then come to Cromwell you would want to leave the school as quick as you can. The canteen food is over priced and super bad. You could find better food in a homeless shelter. Teaches and the Senior leadership team pick on students that struggle with ADHD and other problems.

Horrible

Older years bark at you, shove, pull your hair, chuck food at you and there is nothing done about it. Some od the teachers don't help. A select few of the teachers I have actually care about mental heath. Some teachers put time into the lessons. Music block toilets are disgraceful. The Pso does nothing. One of my friends are being harassed by a group of girls and they didn't even see her because the wait was too long and when it got to her it was the end of lunch.
Overall don't recommend. 4/10

garbage tbh

pretty bad from what i remember
came out as trans and basically didnt bother to help me change my identity, they printed my deadname on the lanyards we had to wear after lockdown, the most they cared to change it was asking me to put my actual name on the leavers hoodie i didnt care about
cut myself and basically no help was offered, they genuinely cared more that the messages i sent that showed a very bad mental state were late at night instead of the fact that i wanted to actually just die
shoutout to the trans guy i sat next to in computer science class though you were cool
food was progressively worse, late 2018 was the big quality dip for it, and it also got more expensive they ruined the chicken twisters that was a sad day
also once my science teacher asked us to talk about the positives of aborting disabled people like girl that is called eugenics why are we debating this?????

horrific

Half the lessons are so boring and there is endless supply teachers. One teacher has been off all term due to personal reasons and students are behind on the subject. The canteen food is so over priced. Students with the free meals get £2.00 a day, with £2 you can only buy a radnor splash and a muffin. That's not enough for a student to eat a day. They say they have 0 tolerance for bullying and that's a lie. Some teachers make the lessons fun . , Most of the yr 7s shout slurs at you. People steal expensive items and the teachers won't do barely anything. Some teachers don't do anything about homophobia or racism and i wouldn't be surprised if they were. Students shove and push students in the break and lunch que just to get theirs faster. Overall wouldn't recommend.

Bad school

First off, Some of the teachers don't help you at all at your subjects and shout at you for not completing work and threaten you with a break/lunch detention. Head of years barely help with anything. Safeguarding doesn't help with anything. A Male teacher asked female students to leave the bathroom while waiting for a stall at break/lunch. Teachers enforce strict rules about jewellery while wearing over the limit of the items that students are allowed to wear. There is so much gum under the tables and they do nothing about it. In the auditorium there is so much gum under a table you can make a duplicate table out of it. There is rubbish in the bathrooms after break and lunch where students have been eating their food. They don't do anything about the bad students except send them to PSU and put them on report and give negatives. Barely any fun activities to do. You have to ask to take your blazer off. There is some days where we can walk around school with no blazer and tie. The canteen food is bad. They put vegan and vegetarian food next to meat and white meat. And there is little variety to the foods that are served.
There are so many bus problems and the heads of year do nothing about it, A bottle was chucked around and students were hit. Food have been chucked around the bus and students have been hit in the head with said food. Older students fight and throw condoms around the bus. There have been older students putting their feet up on the seats on the bus and not letting anyone sit there. There have been threats about bus bans but they have not been enforced. They don't care about the students mental health. they just say it to become a trustworthy school. If you opened up to them they will tell you that your fine and send you back to class. They also say that they have a 0 tolerance for bullying.( they don't) they just say they will do some thing about it and then not do anything unless it affects your health(Eg stabbing some one or threatening to do them harm.) So my overall opinion is if you want to get shouted slurs by a bunch of year 7s then go to cromwell.

Leave while you still can

Absolutely dreadful to the point where it could be considered a breach in human rights. Most of the staffing is abhorrent, the facilities are well below average e.g counselling services are awful and the education is no where near inclusive enough. Not to name names but a certain science teacher is so self-righteous to the point where they belittle us. Also we are never actually taught about people of colour, women or queer folk in history etc. leading to bullying/prejudice. All in all awful school.only redeeming quality is some really nice teachers like Mr Roberts,Miss Smith etc.

No better than most schools but still shocking

26° heat and told to put my blazer on. Unfair since they stand there in summer dresses. The food is shameful for the price it costs. A fly was found in one of my friends jelly pots but canteen staff were kind enough to replace it. Bathrooms are disgusting as menstrual stains remained smeared up the walls for atleast a month and food up the wall still sits in the stall after the 6 weeks holidays. In one of the bathrooms only 2 of the toilets flush. Teachers will never report any serious issues as the only thing they care about is the schools reputation to the public. Your mental health will never be their problem and I’m pretty sure a couple teachers have racist views and homophobic opinions. Some teachers have chose the wrong job because it seems like they hate kids. I was told by my mother to enjoy these years as these will be the best years of my life. If these are the best I dread my adulthood. I simply cannot enjoy life when I sit through lessons that drag and listen to teachers complain. Big shoutout to miss smith, miss Barnett, a couple of the most caring and intelligent teachers I’ve ever experienced. The effort miss smith puts into her teaching is incredible and I’m yet to see a teacher match her. Maybe they should use the money they have from overpricing food to get more people to do talks on issues teachers ignore. Adults would be suprised how many students suffer with mental health. I would’ve rated safety 5 stars until two grown men came into the school and attacked a younger student and it took a while for teachers to break it up

Absolutely not.

Teachers are always changing and in a pandemic that made it hard to adjust. The supply teachers and some actual teachers are obviously unqualified. The content being taught is okay but overwhelming and they give out consequences without having even listened to the reason for not completing the work, whether it be valid or not. Some teaching is lazy and they don't check to see if the students have understood what is being taught. They very clearly can not deal with bullying and there are fights that occur in many years often enough. Most staff are rude and make lessons miserable. The school also cannot deal with mental health issues and they don't see that as a reason to be even slightly behind in work which further makes schooling a challenge. The canteen is ridiculously overpriced and the food there is not good either. In addition, they don't carry enough variety in their vegetarian options so it really doesn't cater to everyone. Students are racist and homophobic and get away with it and it wouldn't surprise me if the staff were too.

no thanks

legit there are only a handfull of teachers that are actually nice. aside from that, i've tried to off myself more than once because of school whilst i was still seeing the school counsellor. she does literally nothing to help; i mentioned homework being a burden to me ONCE and that is all she talked about for the times that i have seen her. glad i have left. the canteen food is terrible too.

Bullying

Cromwell’s 0 tolerance for bullying is a load of rubbish.
I’ve been bullied for 4 years there and they are too bothered about keeping their 5 star rating for no bullying so they find a way to make sure it’s not logged...
My mental health has deteriorated and the school has helped no bit.

Just no...

Horrible school. All students and staff are horrible except from the janitors who are lovely. Teachers don't care about your mental health at all. Pe teachers are even worse and make me not want to come to school.

oh god don't bother

oh god where to start... pretty much don't bother going unless you want to leave with a tonne more mental issues and a white saviour complex due to their 'British Values'. the senior staff have no regard for mental health and are lazy with their PowerPoint presentations for class. the headmistress is openly homophobic and has banned the Kite Trust from coming to do talks with the students and assisting with their offered counselling service (pre-covid). the students are rude, the lower years have no respect for teaching staff and openly verbally abuse them daily. the canteen food is increasing in price every year, with worse quality each time, the canteen staff try their best to make it OK though, but hey ho that's the perks of having frozen food from external expensive companies. the janitors are lovely and super friendly, and it does get better when you progress to sixth form, but as for the lower years its awful. staff are hot on the phone for minor inconveniences, and the school 'counsellor' needs retraining - an example of this is so I tried to ✨off✨ myself and talked to the counsellor about it and she said i should have a 'nice bath' even tho she knew that was how I tried🤔

a t i t l e

Can't think of a single time they've helped with mental health or any issues they claim they have policies for and will help with. Home issues interfering with your school life? Get on with it and stop making a fuss; you're only doing it for attention. There's a few good teachers that really cared and did help out a lot. But damn the people with higher roles in the school sure do only want that sweet paycheck.

Terrible

Teachers have no concern for mental health, there are countless amounts of people ignoring the mask and one way corridor rules and teachers are turning a blind eye to it, the toilets are horrible with lights and sinks that don't work, canteen food tastes horrible and it is incredibly expensive. People that have free school meals are unable to buy food and a drink due to their prices being too high. Overall, I don't recommend cromwell at all.
