Give me some ideas of what the school is like
I’ve only started going there a few weeks ago my name is ash and I’m a year 11 and I would like to know what the school is like
bang average
it’s a brilliant school, unless you’re academically gifted. the focus is completely on those who aren’t and improving their progress rather than challenging the top students.
maths block is very nice + comfortable but some of the main block and one of the science rooms are showing their age. good library though.
teachers are very hit and miss, had some exceptional ones throughout the last few years but also some dreadful teachers. bullying never really seems to get handled and the school constantly preach about mental health awareness yet certain teachers overload us with homework and can’t understand the importance of having a social life (especially post-covid).
wilson house staff are useless. everything is made out to be the students fault and quite frankly they cannot be bothered to do anything that requires more than sending an email. other house staff are brilliant and will do anything to ensure your mental and physical wellbeing is okay.
the headteacher is excellent too, and no problem is too big / small. very approachable too

a year 11 who isn’t happy
i absolutely hate attending this school, their priorities are all wrong. they’re the type of school who punishes those with piercings or coloured hair over the bullies, they don’t support you if you’re the victim of bullying and they don’t support you if you’re have trouble at home they in fact make it worse. some teachers are okay but the wilson staff are horrible and treat students like bugs, they don’t care about our opinions or our reasons all they care about is making this school as much like a prison as possible, they say to express yourself but then they want us to all dress the exact same have the same jewellery and the same colour hair and you can’t express yourself in anyway at this school

its a good school but if ur academically good to start with they just kind of forget about u. way more focus on 'progress'
