This school ruined my mental health

I went here for 5 years was horrifically bullied the school did absolutely nothing. I've been in therapy for 4 years trying to move on from the trauma and the panic disorder the school gave me as well as massive fear of authority and a diagnosed anxiety disorder. When the school was informed of my severe mental health they told me not to talk about it cause it "upsets other people". I left the school for 2 month due to bullying to return to no punishment for the bullies. There is a teacher there who refuses to use student names calling them only "child" and I was called names by a few teachers aswell. I don't think there could be a possibly worse school if I stayed any longer at that school I wouldn't be here today

Not recommended at all

Really bad experience with this school would not recommend at all. The bullying here is just atrocious and not dealt with at all and if your child has any kind of SEN or develops one they will not be supported. I honestly wish I never sent my child here.

If your child is an overachiever then this is probably the school for you otherwise I would really avoid it.

I do NOT recommend this school if you care about your child.

I do not recommend this school.

Nothing is taken seriously about bullying. My child was constantly bullied for being smaller and struggling with some subjects. They were once told to apologize to a kid when they fought back. The bully in question was a nightmare child, but was allowed to stay in the school.

If your child is struggling, they do not help and your child will be left behind. They will take your money till the last term and ensure you, your child will progress to the next year and then say sorry we changed our minds. Go find somewhere else.

There is an elitist era about this school. If you contribute to the school social events, they favour you more. The parents that suck up to the teachers for favours is the problem. If you fall out of favour with the parents or teachers, you will be ostracized and so will your child.

They have hurt my child, their personality changed. They would lash out at home and misbehave. It took us a while to understand they were not happy and were being excluded by the school and the other children and the arsehole parents.

We spent time with a child psychologist, to help them. We felt we had failed our child and were bad parents. I feel guilty everyday that I send them there and ignored their cry for help as just a child adjusting to a new year or new school work.

My child has moved to another local private school, where they do not tolerate bullying, there is no social hierarchy and they will help struggling children. They have made friends and are happy. I see my child coming back from a hellish experience.

if your child is not an overachiever, and let's face it who is. If you care about your child's mental well-being. Please consider other alternative schools.

Very Dissapointed

I had high hopes of this school when my child first started this school, but these were soon dashed.
Autumn term, no exercise books available for students to write in, constant stream of different teachers for IT throughout the year, some of these teachers not really having any knowledge of the subject. Disruptive behaviour in lessons being deemed acceptable, with teachers then loosing total control. Teachers do not / cant remember individual students names, which has been shown in the writing of school reports, on numerous occasions teachers have written a report & half way through they have referred to the student by another students name.
Bullying is rife across all years & is not dealt with sufficiently. Teachers response to the bullying being "its your word against there's so there is no evidence its going on."
The school is only interested in the children who achieve great things outside of the school environment, which it constantly rides on the back of as though it were responsible for these achievements.
When I asked the head teacher about students doing GCSE's exams early like in other independent school & also state schools, his reply was " we do not do GCSEs early as frankly the majority of the students are not capable of passing a GCSE."
The only good thing I can say is that the uniform does look smart (although trying to get hold of any that actually fits correctly is impossible) & on the whole the students take pride in there appearance, however the female students in the 6th form choose not to wear the uniform & just look a mess & scruffy.

Please don’t go here.

When I was at this school, I became depressed very quickly. The school is almost purely academic and the lessons are not engaging at all. The teachers just read out what they want you to write down and that is it. They have no pastoral care and do not understand how to deal with panic attacks. They do not accommodate peoples needs at all. The teachers are bad at their jobs. I got bullied here but when I went to confide in a teacher, they just said ‘Are you covered in bruises or cuts? No? Then it’s not bullying.’ Which is ridiculous and untrue. I also had to go to the deputy head of year because I somehow offended a member of staff for simply getting the wrong end of the stick. I really hated this school.

It’s an alright school

Honestly some of the teachers can just be downright awful and sometimes single you out but there are few which are absolute gems and hell with whatever you need. When you tell them you are having problems with your mental health they do literally nothing.
