Stupid out of date rules that are a result of the patriarchy and prey on the downfall of children fighting to find their identities however most of the teachers are really nice
Review of Downlands
Been bullied here quite a lot and the corridors could be bigger but overall a great teachers and especially good music department

The teachers are good and some of the topics are great! However in the corridors, it is so stressful and hard to get to lessons! We are so tightly packed together we’re barley able to move! Also they are way to strict on skirt length- why are you looking? And strict on jewellery it doesn’t affect my learning! Overall though it’s a nice school that I would recommend.
Bullying here
It's an overall average school grade wise, but it doesn't seem to care much if you don't do well in acidemics, it also doesn't handle bulling or mental health issues the way it should. Most bullying cases are over looked and mental health isn't treated with the upmost importance that it should be treated with. However the teacher are mostly funny and very friendly.
Not as good as the hype
Downlands are still riding high on the back of their historic 'Outstanding' OFSTED report, however, things have changed since then. Too much emphasis on the academic achievers whilst the others are left to fall by the wayside.

Pastoral team are excellent and teaching across the board is a high standard. Some teachers who I do not like or who are creepy but you will always get that in a school. Same with students. But overall a great sxhool,, far more good than bad.

At the end of the day, it’s always going to be a school, it’s always going to have teachers you don’t like, and it’s always going to have annoying people you don’t like. Downlands is actually a pretty decent school compared to others I think. It’s not perfect, but I feel confident I can achieve the grades I want here, and I have grown as a person a lot since I arrived. There are some creepy annoying teachers who are so pointless, but there are other really good friendly and funny ones.

did not enjoy. going there was a poor experience. would not recommend although preferable alternative to oakmeeds.
