Ellon Academy is a school that, on the surface, is supposed to be a place for learning, growth, and opportunity. However, my experience there has been quite difficult, and I want to share some of the challenges I’ve faced during my time at the school.
One of the biggest issues I have is with how the teachers and staff handle discipline and accusations. There was an incident where I was blamed for causing another student to fall off a bike — and the truth is, that student couldn’t even ride a bike properly. Instead of investigating what really happened, the school immediately put the blame on me. It felt unfair and frustrating because I was punished for something I didn’t do, and no one took the time to check the facts or hear my side properly.
This kind of experience isn’t isolated. I’ve also dealt with a teacher, Mr. Scott, who seems to believe anyone except me whenever there’s a conflict. For example, there was a situation involving a student named William, who constantly complains and gets believed by the teachers, even when the truth isn’t on his side. Mr. Scott tends to listen to William and others but rarely trusts or listens to me. This creates a very unfair environment where I feel targeted and misunderstood, making school a stressful and frustrating place to be.
On top of that, I’ve faced bullying and disrespect from some students who mock me for wearing glasses or for being from the UK. These things shouldn’t matter, but they’re used as reasons to tease and put me down. One student even made disrespectful comments about people I care about, which made the situation even harder to handle emotionally.
All of this adds to a feeling of not being supported or valued at Ellon Academy. It feels like the school is quick to punish but slow to listen, which affects how motivated I feel to try and do well. Sometimes, the rules and punishments seem strict and unfair, and there’s little effort to understand the individual circumstances behind each situation.
Despite all these challenges, I do believe that Ellon Academy has potential. There are some good teachers who genuinely want to help students learn and grow, and there are moments when classes are interesting and engaging. But the negative experiences with unfair treatment and lack of support overshadow those moments and make it difficult to feel positive about the school overall.
I hope that Ellon Academy can improve by listening more carefully to students, investigating situations fairly, and creating a safer and more supportive environment for everyone. School should be a place where every student feels heard, respected, and encouraged to succeed — but right now, that isn’t always the case for me.
Until things change, my experience at Ellon Academy will remain challenging, and I hope sharing this honest review helps shed light on some of the struggles students like m
i myself have bully and be assault 2 time before it is not good school and kids get let off to vapeing and other thing, teacher sceam at u myself have had this i have adhd and schhol have make me worst i am S1 and there times i dont wan go to school and the school do not know space and there let other kids off if it was me i get shonted at
The school is meh, its decently clean, lunches are absolute terrible, the quality of the food is not good whatsoever, some of the items are overpriced in my opinion like £2 for a panini? Bit expensive like. Inside is decent but OUTSIDE? Absolutely terrible, trash everywhere, this is probably a bit over but a quarter of student are smoking and vaping but teachers don't give a crap, they say
They do but they dont. Teachers are meh some strict some not, the bully handling is terrible, it personally happens to me as well, I got kicked and punched several times not to mention, alot of students are honestly terrible to people for literally no reason. Homework. No.
School is well maintained, Well cleaned, Good teachers, the school isn’t bad at all. However, the food is dreadful. It doesn’t feel like the kitchen staff try at all, and it seems that they don’t care about their job. I guess they just hire anyone nowadays. Something I have noticed though, is that one of the glass panels at the pupil entrance is shattered and could fall any minute.
This school does not know how to create ways to prevent bullying. The school does NOT do enough detailed drugs and smoking courses in the likes of PSE etc. because the amount of drugs and smoking at Ellon Academy is crazy. Do not put your kids to this school
