Farthinghoe Primary School

We couldn’t be happier with Farthinghoe School and the care, attention and sense of community it provides. Our child has been at the school since Reception and is now in Year 1, and throughout this time we have been incredibly impressed by the dedication of the teachers and staff. The level of individual attention is truly exceptional. When we adopted our child around eight months ago, the school went above and beyond to make the transition as gentle and positive as possible. His teacher even came to our home before he started, which made such a meaningful difference and helped him feel safe and familiar with the school environment. Since then, we have maintained very close communication with his teachers. We feel genuinely listened to and supported, and there is a wonderful sense that we are all working together to understand how he is doing, support his development and make sure he is happy and thriving at school. The sense of community is another thing we absolutely love. It is a friendly, welcoming school where families really get to know one another. Parents often arrange informal meet-ups outside school hours, with children getting together to play at the nearby park, which has helped us feel very much part of the wider school community. The new Headteacher is also doing a fantastic job. There is a clear sense of enthusiasm and progress, while maintaining the warm, family-oriented atmosphere that makes the school so special. The PTA deserves a huge amount of credit too. They work incredibly hard to raise funds and, importantly, put those funds to thoughtful and meaningful use, helping the school continue to develop and provide even more for its pupils. For us, Farthinghoe School is much more than a place where our child goes to learn. It is a supportive, caring community where children are known as individuals and where families feel welcomed and valued. We feel very fortunate that our child is part of it.

First and foremost for the comment about just closing the school : respectfully…. take multiple seats real quick 🤫! We absolutely love Farthinghoe. It’s a small school with a huge heart, where every child is genuinely known, supported and encouraged. Our daughter was only four when she started, and in just four months she has learned to read and write, while growing so much in confidence and independence. We genuinely couldn’t be happier with the care, community and opportunities the school provides. We feel incredibly lucky to be part of it and everyone that has to be the privilege to be part of it should be feeling blessed !

Awful! My child has been moved to another school and they admitted how far behind my child is...child has thrived rapidly since changing school! Honest opinion is it would be best for everyone if school closed down due to low pupil numbers and awful teaching.
