A factual paragraph or two.

To be frank, this school is rubbish. If you love and care for your children — you wouldn’t let them attend. Here’s a list why:

Double Standard: Teachers are persistent on uniform rulings (I know teachers don’t specifically have a school uniform). Let me give a few examples. In PE, girls aren’t allowed to wear leggings due to them perhaps being “see-through” in multiple active school trips multiple female teachers have been seen wearing leggings, but it’s okay because it’s for sport? Why isn’t it the same for us? This year, they’re introducing a new skirt rule where skirts have to be at least be above the knees (Correct me if I’m wrong). I know multiple female teachers who have worn skirts/dresses way above the knee.

Teachers: I know, we all deal with teachers we don’t particularly like; it’s apart of life. We can’t always get along with everyone in our life, right? However some teachers can be just straight-up cruel to the point it’s disgusting. Picking on students, humiliating them, name-calling them. It’s okay because it’s only a joke, right?

Form groups: This year, they’ve decided to switch it up for the current Year 7’s moving into Year 8. I’m not too fussed about this as much as the other points i’ve mentioned. However; I think it’s utterly stupid. I don’t see the point in switching up form groups for their last year in this school. Many students aren’t happy, not being put with friends even when they made a “Friendship Form” for students to choose 5 pupils they’d most prefer to be with when pupils aren’t even going to be put with their friends?

Going Backwards: So, Ferndown Middle School goes from Year 5 all the way to Year 8. Not the typical school you would see. I think some rules need adjusting. Such as phone rulings. Phones being put in boxes for Year 7+ pupils is outdated and let me explain why. Many schools across the country allow their secondary school pupils to have their phone on them, aslong as it’s switched off or on silent, etc. I’d understand why Year 5 and Year 6 pupils aren’t allowed them — they’re still basically in primary but Year 7 and 8 pupils are having to go by their rules? It’s like Year 5 and Year 6 are having a upgrade to their education and rules whereas it’s going downhill for Year 7 and 8.

If you’re a former student or a current student in this school, I feel for you. You’re not alone. Your voice can be heard; it can all change if you just speak up.

Really good!!

It's a good school- good food, good teachers, and good education. The area is lively and the only problem is the other students, but they won't ever actually do anything. The ones that try to belittle others are all talk and no act- so as long as you ignore them you'll be fine.

I had been struggling mentally before hand and I can say without a doubt only 3 months at this school and I was doing so much better.
