People get bullied alot and school does nothing

This school is more like a prison then a school

The amount of times my child has called me crying in the toilets is disgusting and it’s because of the idiots running the school. If you want your child to have an actual education, and not just be thrown in isolation for everything then this isn’t the place for you. I also think that getting screamed at and told to shut up for talking in lesson is disgusting and inappropriate, along with teachers telling literal children that they don’t have any respect for themselves for having their skirt rolled up (it’s grown men that are saying this to our kids). If your child suffers with mental health it will just be disregarded and the head of well-being will continue to scream in your child’s face whilst they’re having a panic attack due to their shouting (i was on the phone to her on mute and heard everything, it’s disgusting and hurtful to hear the way they speak to your children). Children are told to respect the teachers, even though the teachers have absolutely no respect for them. This school gives out detentions for absolutely anything. Half of the teachers, like Dr Jones don’t deserve a job at the school as they don’t even teach properly, they just tell you to figure it out and don’t explain the work given to the students, and then be-little them and make them feel stupid when they don’t get full marks on tests, and tell them that they won’t go anywhere in life without being a chemist. Any sense of individuality is not allowed, no piercings, no dyed hair and everything about students has to be the same. Don’t get me wrong, teachers like Miss Billig, Miss Wilson and Mr Ratcliffe have been really supportive and really helpful towards my daughter and it’s teachers like them that deserve a job at this school. Not teachers that make students feel worthless. Sorry for the rant, and i hope the school sort these issues out before more kid’s mental health is destroyed.

i’m in year 9 at gsa. there’s not a single day where i don’t cry to my parents about not going to school. first off i’d like to adress how people treat you and make you feel, you only fit in if your pretty or popular. no one cares who you are if you don’t fit into their special categories. i’m not one of them people. the kids make you feel lonely and different. they’re so horrible and the amount of bullying and judging at that school is horrendous. also the mental health team isn’t great. i was sent in to one of the link buildings about my depressive state and my unsafe way of dealing with my problems. i had one talk with her and she never brought me back into her office again. i was in a really bad state too. there was no checkups, nothing. being at this school is a straight up prison, you can’t wear any jellwery and have specific hair styles and colours. the students can’t express themselfes in the ways they want to. they just have to act like robots and copies of each other to impress the community and offsted. the teaching is so poor too. they don’t care about the knowledge you receive they just want their pay. the subs just sit there and do nothing so the class will miss behave all lesson. the uniform and pe kit is well expensive too. especially if you have more than one child, your not allowed to buy cheap skirts or jumpers. it has to be all branded and boys can’t wear shorts. that’s ridiculous in the summer. overall this school makes me want to die. nothing about it is good. it’s a literal nightmare. please don’t send your child to this school unless you want them to feel the same way i do

I have had 4 children go through this school (one still there) and would not recommend it to any other parents. The school has an ethos of bullying from pupils and teachers to pupils. They seem to care more about their image than the pupils, especially children with neurodiversity. They have a ‘our way or no way’ attitude and will never admit getting anything wrong. The budgeting goes to ridiculous new ‘traditions’ rather than the pupils and the SEND provision is non-existent. Ethos of bullying and disrespect. If your child is shy, anxious or different they will not cope in the environment the staff provide. Children are shoved and hit on the bridge over the A52 and despite many parents complaints it is still not supervised and teachers outside stand looking at their mobiles looking bored, or screaming at kids for the ‘wrong shoes’. A renect work experience teacher was heard on their phone outside the school saying ‘don’t ever work here they treat the pupil’s disgusting’. I echo this sadly as a parent.

Bad school dont go here they are mean

This school is so bad It doesn't help anyone it puts you on report for having 5 warnings in 1-week school dinners are overpriced and mouldy i had a raw chicken burger its £2.30 for burger with water Teachers dont help you for big things I wasn't allowed to go to First aid (which is poor) When my head was bleeding, I've been threatened with having a 2 week suspension for not calling a teacher sir. I constantly get detentions for shaking my knee when i can't help it. Bulling is so frequent Like people hate this school its not safe at all there isdealing all the time. 2 students in late 2021 got expelled for having knives on them there is always fights

Students don’t feel safe the children act appallingly and are out of control. Staff scream and shout and do not help the new year 7’s adjust. They are just abandoned, there are other more caring schools on the area. Good luck actually speaking to someone. Lack of communication. I work in education and this really is a poor education for your kids not world class as it states

This school is treacherous. The last time I attended GSA i was absolutely battered on my first day just because I took a piss on the lawn. The teachers made comments on my bunda and called me butters to my face. The bathrooms are the pits and smelled of horse droppings and the uniforms are like prison uniforms. I came in naked on a non-uniform day and was expelled for no reason. 0/10 would not recommend

Very bad school, absolutely horrible mental health management and absolutely no action against bullying from students or teachers, yes the teachers treated students with no respect either. I only left 2 stars for the poor nice teachers who were trying their best to keep us mentally stable and happy at school and trying to make a difference and talk some sense into the higher powers of the school. I had to endure so much bullying throughout years 7 all the way up to 11 and it's left me with severe anxiety and many more issues, and my own little brother hated that school so much that he became heavily unwell mentally and started hurting himself. Please do not send your kids here.

DO NOT JOIN THIS PRISON OF A SCHOOL, and when I say PRISON I’m not joking, I’m being serious, this school treats you like an inmate in jail. U wil get mire isolations than detentions and if you dont know what an isolation is, it is where u sit in a claustrophobic little booth type thing doing nothing and not moving for 6 & a half hours and u have to stay after school for another 1 hour, in total 7 hours and 30 minutes sat in a little booth with no movement is awful for the body and health and a teacher monitors u for the whole 7 hours like a prison guard. Its torture and I normally get isolations just for not wearing a tie, having the correct school shoes on because I dont have any or because I forgot to wear my lanyard which is now ANOTHER key thing you have to wear in this ridiculous, pathetic, uncultured school. They just pretend to be good infront of offsted then treat you so disrespectfully its unreal. One of the worst schools I have ever attended in my life, I have to suffer with bullying for 5 years there without any teacher doing anything to the bullys even though I told them and mentioned everything 1 million times from the past 5 years. Worst school, do NOT attend if u want ur kid to be happy in there life

Where do I start with this school, teachers… the teachers in this school are not nice at all, my friend once cried because a teacher called her rude, no teacher should make a child cry, my other friend got yelled at and screamed at in the face because she said oh my God. I’m convinced that the teachers at the school just wanna feel the higher than everybody else and make ridiculous rules that don’t even make sense just because they wanna feel in control of their life and a feel like they have power. I could make a list of all the pedophiles and perverts at my school, for example one teacher followed my friend into the bathroom and listened to her pee, One of the teachers at our school was on the sex offenders list but they still were allowed to teach young girls, One teacher made my friend go into his office because apparently the leggings she was wearing for PE were not allowed and insisted that she turned around to see the back of her trousers when the female teacher next to him said that it was fine he insisted on seeing behind of her, On non-uniform day girls are not allowed to have ripped jeans because it would be distracting to the male teachers, if there are teachers in our school that are distracted by kneecaps, they shouldn’t be teaching, they are also strict about girls showing their ankles when they’re wearing trousers ! There’s also a lot of sexism in the school, My friend had started their period and they wanted two of their friends to come with her to get a pad and the teachers told them off and gave them A detention because They went with her and said that it was not his problem if they started their period and That she doesn’t need all of her friends, may I remind you that this was a male teacher. School teachers also make comments about children’s weight and acne, One of my friends was told that she needs to eat less McDonald’s if she wants less acne, One of my other friends was asked if she was gaining weight because her trousers were “tight”. The sad thing is that none of the teachers do anything about this and all the issues that are in the school, they have a well-being phone line acting as if they care about pupils mental health but then actually they don’t care at all And don’t give us the time of day for our opinions and to express our feelings, also the main reason is that people would call their well-being line is for about abuse from teachers and teachers making them feel down (also about students but with that they don’t even care at all). Kids that are favouritised and lot of the time its the students that actually do wrong things but nobody cares what they do and they only care for the students that aren’t following there strict rules in particular, for example me and my friends were all sitting on the table eating our lunch and one student who is way more less behaved than loads of other students, asked one of our teachers to Move us of a table and the teacher actually did it and all of us had to move for that one student to sit down. my friend was grabbed by her bag and the teacher would not let go, and afterwards she was shaking cause she was so scared and she tried to complain about it to the school and they did not do anything, the teachers upset my friend so much that she goes home and cries about a certain teacher who is always rude to her and makes her doubt herself. The school make it seem like they’re so perfect and they make themselves an ethos of excellence and make it as though the teachers always follow And the students need to learn from it, one of the ethos of excellence is respecting individuality but then the school doesn’t let you have two earring piercings in your lobe, wear any bracelets, necklaces, you’re not allowed to dye your hair and more… because it’s “distracting” in lessons and if a student tries to express their opinion they are shut down and told that they are being rude. There is racism and all kinds of bullying in the school but all they care about is the length of a tie! One Of the ethos of excellence is being polite fair and honest but yet the teachers speak to the students in such rude ways and scream and spit at their faces and don’t let the students go to the toilet after a two hour lesson, refusing a basic human need. They don’t allow you to go to the toilet at lesson time but then we had to go to toilet at break you have to lineup for it and if you’ve been too many times in the past week they claim you are always going in there for and that you have to wait longer because you go to the toilet often, They also tell you that you can go in between lessons but when you go in between lessons and you’re slightly late to class they give you a late mark. They Make the school as if it’s a prison and always sees students as causing trouble and never doing as they’re told when they’re just doing normal things that people do. PE kit is also an issue my mum bought me new joggers for PE at the start of the year and then I was told I’d have to get new ones because they were made out of cotton ?! Boys were bullying my friend and all the teacher could say was “boys will be boys”. I find a distinct amount of racism at my school not just by students but also teachers, students are allowed to bring in pride flags and wear pride flag badges on their blazer but when I brought in a Palestinian flag and people were wearing Palestinian flag badges on their blazer we were all immediately told off and told to take it off, this is nothing against members of the LGBTQ community I just find it isn’t fair. The annoying thing is the school never takes anyone’s opinion, students or parent and I bet this review will mean nothing because they will not listen to anyone’s opinion and constructive criticism. The issue is also phones, the new headteacher has banned phones and sometimes My parents messages me or calls me, tried to call me at lunch and break and I got my phone taken off me because of my own mother wanting to contact me, and teachers walk around in high viz jackets and hold walkie talkies and there is lots of cameras in the school, acting as if the students are criminals for silly things, it is a school not a prison !!!!! They also never listen to any students needs or wants, my teacher asked me to stay behind after class but I left because my mum was waiting for me and my teacher came to me the next day and confronted me about it I told him that my mum was waiting for me and he said “that is not my problem”. The way this school make students feel and how this school makes treats the pupils is not okay !! This school needs to change their system and fast because it is messed up !!!

don’t go to this school please, you will get punished for every little thing you do, i have had more isolations than detentions for silly things such as asking for the toilet and ‘being rude’ when i explained that i was desperate. teachers are seen as more important than students and they don’t want to listen to your problems unless your mum calls up and complains for you. i also find it unfair how strict the uniform is, you have to ask to take off your blazer in the heat, boys aren’t allowed to wear shorts in the heat and top buttons have to be done up when it’s scorching hot or else it’s a detention. you aren’t allowed to express yourself with piercings or hair colour either because that’s not allowed. school is meant to be the best time of your life, but it’s not. bullying is ignored too, i know many people that have had to leave because bully wasn’t taken care of. should be ashamed tbh.

The rules are way to strict, I am a student and multiple times I have been told that on hot days, only the school can decide when it’s hot enough to take off your blazer (at break and lunch). I asked if I could roll up my sleeves instead they smirked and said no. I also believe they are not as supportive as they say they are, my maths teacher told me there is no chance that I could get any higher than a grade 5 and yet couldn’t give me any names of people who could help me when I asked. In pe I am basically forced to buy knew clothes as they have a small logo on it or I will keep getting detentions, I have a perfectly fine red top I have been using for a year and a half and now suddenly it isn’t approved because of a tiny logo. If I ever tell this to a member of staff face to face my problems will just be ignored.

j'adore le classe - one of the many things that the wonderful teachers in this beautiful school taught me. We learn brand new and exciting topics everyday such as how to get loyalty on my SBCs. ** ****** reminded me that due to CR7 signing for United he can now not only be in my FPL, but also get a PERFECT LINK to Bruno Fernanj. Prime Salah is clear of Prime Hazard.

They refuse to help with bullying and mental health support. I was almost thrown off the school bridge onto the a52 because I came out as trans. Little action was taken. Education was okay but overall not worth it

I am bullied. I tell people they put them in detention then leave them to continue beating me up. I get isolation for having my trousers too short. I get isolation for having my shirt untucked with no warning. And I have hearing impairments that cause me to miss hear. When I ask the teacher to repeat themselves I am humiliated in front of the whole class. My mental health is crap, but no cares about my mental health, as long as my grades are good. Sexist comments. Teachers acting in an unprofessional manner that causes me to be uncomfortable being taught by male teachers. I hate this school.

Was no point in banning the phones because people use them in lesson anyway, in the buildings and they use their mates to hide them from teachers. Teachers care more about girls rolling their skirts down than the amount of people who say racist and homophobic slurs when they’re not part of the group who can say them. And their uniform policy is way too strict, about the 6 stripes on a tie, must have a logo on skirt, jumper, it’s ridiculous. They need to prioritise mental health and sanctioning students for using the n word or f slur, than telling people to tuck shirts in, roll skirts down etc.
