don't bring your child here
This school is so terrible. i don't recommend bringing your child here: So basically i struggle with self harm and depression, i told the school and they handled it so terribly. they'd given me a 'pass' to leave the classroom and sit in ks3. so i asked my science teacher and he told me no because i hadn't picked a 'mature' person to go with me(mind you it's my choice and i have a right to go). after my science lesson ended, my teacher pointed out that we had missing scissors and came STRAIGHT up...

Glossopdale- awful and unsafe school
I work at the school and the way I see people who are in the inclusion team treat children is terrible. The behaviour policy is punitive and there appears to be no restorative conversations or empathy of why pupils are struggling. Self harm is rife and when pupils are asked why the trigger is school. Pupils are suspended or sent a different school for a few days for small reasons. The SLT needs an overhaul and needs looking in to. Mental hell
Not a joke review. This school does not give a shit about mental health yet they claim to. ‘You don’t have enough evidence that your child is depressed and needs help.’ What evidence do they need??! Oh, someone just yelled a racial slur along the corridor.. I’ll just tell them, ‘language!’ That’ll sort the issue! Except it fucking won’t!! Stop allowing racism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia and bullying!! Hypocrites!!

You need to know
This school is like hell. DO NOT COME HERE! Miss Geary and the Head Teacher team up on you and follow you around complaining about uniform. Miss Geary will put you in isolation for absolutely no reason sand likes to give detentions out all the time. I PROMISE YOU if you come to this school you will come out worse then you entered. Tiktok taught me more than Glossopdale school.

Poor management and bullies are rife.
This school has no management. This school is rife with bullying. The head has no control. It needs new management to take control and turn a great establishment into a great school. The head teacher and the head leaders should be ashamed. You have no leadership whatsoever. You let the bullies and kids who have no interest in learning rule. There is a good reason your Ofsted report is so poor. My child and so many more are having and have had issues and you just have no idea how to deal with things. You say 0 policy to bullying. Take this off your website as it's a complete nonsense. I'm going to be contacting Ofsted for a start.

My Experience
I know there will be some kids that come on here and mess around but im genuinely serious about how that school treated me and the majority of my year group. There is little to no help if you are struggling with mental health. Talking from experience at that school. I wasnt doing good with my mental health and school did nothing. I'd like to specifically name one person who made it hell for me for the amount of abuse I went through. Hi Mrs Naylor. The mental scars your choices and actions gave me will never fade. Parents looking at this school as a choice, take it from a student who was treated so poorly at that school that I came out of it worse than I went in. They care about reputation over safety and care of the students and faculty.

Teachers are horrible with you, if anything goes wrong they dont do anything at all, teachers pick on you, students are absolute bullies, you dont get treated like you’ve achieved something, antibulling policy, is a load of shit. Come on glossopdale?.

Fabulous
This is a great school, especially for those who want to do well later in life, it really sets you up for the things you might want to do and gives you a vast array of all subjects for you/your child. All teachers are extremely friendly, especially Miss Smith (biology) and Miss Logan (english). The state of the school is great, it certainly isn’t as good as it could be but the staff are doing a good job. The teachers also are very good at their jobs, best of all (my opinion), Mr Bruce. How has COVID-19 had an affect on Glossopdale!
The pupils are separated into ‘year group’ bubbles. You have to wear a face mask except from when you are outside or eating indoors. They have welcomed students back by a staggered start.
