Awful

The food here was disgusting and I was very disappointed the jacket potatoes were vile and the meat was all under cooked it was the same for my sister who attended a few years later I don’t know what it’s like know but I presume it’s the same. I also remember they checked in your lunch boxes to see if it was healthy. Personally I wouldn’t send any of your kids and or family here

It’s a low-key a Christian school.

My younger sister attended here and I went there beforehand. My worst experience was with the food. This was years ago, however I recall eating a vegetable lasagne with warm pasta but cold vegetables and my sister says the jacket potatoes are “vile.” At lunch, they have their school council look in people’s lunchbox to see if it is up to their “healthy standards” which I can only imagine leads to eating disorders among children. Genuinely one of the most disturbing things I've heard, and as far as I know it is still occuring.

Although they never say, this school is practically a Christian one. At the end of every assembly, they make the children say a Christian prayer, they make the children perform in Easter shows about Jesus rising, Christmas shows about the nativity and around August you’ll do a ‘harvest play’ about thanking God for the harvest. Our family are atheists so we weren’t too bothered, however can imagine this isn’t fun for anyone who is non-Christian but still religious.

Had some of the worst supply teachers here, mostly the ones who came from other schools. One teacher was incredibly strict on 10-year-olds by shouting and rudely telling an injured student to get a move on whilst getting their things out as she was timing how long it took. When fidget spinners were a thing, she confiscated one and the students had to go to the office to get it returned to them. After it all, she brought in our regular teacher and called us all ‘racist’ for disliking her.

My younger sister needs support for mental health, and whilst there are some good people, it takes a while to actually get in touch or get past all the people who don’t care. They don’t take care of bullying, but I doubt this is any different to any other schools in the country. They’ll simply say “leave it a few days” or something along those lines.

Ever since to the previous headteacher left, it seems to be going downhill. As for education, seems to be average on most fronts, managed to get good SATs results. Their teaching about the real world like PHSE isn’t great, and they didn’t mention anything about the LGBTQ+ community for what I can recall.

Overall, I’ve just mentioned the bad stuff. We went on some banging school trips and did do fun activities, would just recommend bringing a packed lunch, avoiding those school council lunch monitors, and keeping low. They have good after school activities, such as violins and sports, but for the most parts the school is average. Could speak for days about this, but I’ve got better things to do.
