Horrible school making children cry not letting students use the bathrooms the thought of this being the best school in Wigan makes me want to hand myself

Forces students into school after no sleep due to exams. Refuses to give study leave and complain when students are placed on it by their parents. Threaten to take away prom for the kids who have never done any wrong for a few days off school. Given the naughty kids a behavioural leave so they don’t have to deal with them and leave the other children stressed out and exhausted learning nothing. Send out lies to parents and tell them that classes are filled with extra learning and planned revision when in reality it has 6 students and a booklet for them to copy out of. The teachers sit back and relax telling off the kids for simple things after exams that take out every ounce of energy they have left.

TERRIBLE SCHOOL I joined in yr7 and it was terrible I got bullied everyday and stuff chucked at me, food thrown at me, called names, chased, harrased, hit across the head with books and more and the teachers did absolutely nothing I ended up having bad attendance bc I couldn't go from how bad it was and I left in January 2025 thankfully and it's still getting bad reviews, my mum ended up having to go in and talk to the headteacher like so many time sbc they wouldn't do anything and if you had told a teacher abt who was bullying you they would tell that kid who told on them and then I would bullied even more I would even try and skip school and would have mental health days off BC OF THAT SCHOOL DO NOT SEND YOU KID THERE IT IS TERRIBLE, IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR CHILD TO GET BULLIED OR JUMPED OR NOT HAVE BAD MH DONT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE

Do not send you child to this school. My child is there at present and I can not believe the smallest of issue they are on the phone having a moan but when you want to voice your opinion about anything or a call back for an issue you receive zero correspondence back. Teacher bullying as well which gets brushed under the carpet. Not allowing a child to go to the toilet in class unless they have a pass absolutely a disgrace so they would rather have a pupil have a accident in class rather than allowing them to just go. We are in 2025 not 1925. Five head teachers within over 12 months do I need to say more

Absolutely horrendous school. Bullying is awful as the teachers do not pick up on the appalling behaviour from the students. They can't control the students for the life of them, they appear to be intimidated by 14 year old lads. The safety of this school is also beyond a joke. Not to mention this year's year 11s didn't get to experience their own leavers properly as they all got kicked out due to idiotic 16 year old lads acting like toddlers. They didnt get to finish their shirt signing or assembly. Absolutely dreadful school. Do NOT send your child here.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL. This school has gone down hill. The teachers do not care about the students and have no respect for the students who are always in the right. And to give an example a few days ago when my child was meant to have his leavers assembly, not even half way through it they decided to kick all of the students out due to the appalling behaviour all the lads at the back were showing. None of the teachers have control over the children and there have been a few incidents where the police have had to be involved due to student coming onto the premises with knives. My child has also told me about how at the beginning of year 11 that they had a teacher in they’re design tech who had no clue what they had to do for their course work and now my child hasn’t been able to reach their full potential in that specific course they chose. The head teachers never last long either within the past school year there have been about 4 already. And they always say about how they will make the school safer and a better learning environment for the students but this never happens and the school ends up even worse than before. So please take this as a warning to not send your child to this school.

They should've set adolesence in this school

Shocking school, couldn’t care about bullying / mental health. Since y7 I’ve been bullied, followed home, jumped , chased, crowded, followed around school, name called none stop, drinks poured on my hair, chucked food at , laughed at, hit etc.. everyday!!! None stop and worser things. Reported many times 80% of the things I reported didn’t get sorted. And that’s when I started to have weeks off and give me bad advice saying have no reaction even tho if I sit there it carries on, no support gets in place, students are horrible , treat no one with respect, teacher made me have panic attack once, mostly bad staff and students . Will be taking it further

This school is terrible bc the kids start riots for nothing and the headteachers are known for leaving after 6 months of starting the job the new headteacher is called miss greggory she bloody followed me round the school but then gives up on you miss caren the English teacher runs after you and you get put in remove the next day and you can’t go out during lessons and when you are in A block at break and dinner the staff scream at you my friend if she is in A block at break dinner before school and after school she gets a 2hour detention after school on the same day and you get a new member of staff pretty much every month and you get bullied by staff bc they don’t care when you fall face first on the stairs and when you tell a teacher you fell on the stairs face first they scream top of their voice I don’t care but the head of year 8 is amazing and very pretty and she helps you with anything and then there is a Pe teacher who takes your bag and throws it outside But then you get that 1 teacher who is in a right mood (Head of Y9) and Some of SLT are kind and pretty but the headteachers PA is amazing because she lets me sit in her office sometimes when I’m annoyed at teachers so I don’t get in trouble

A lot of teachers left at the end of last year. This year my form teacher hasn't been in for more than three weeks so far also teachers on sick for no reason. The good is shit, overpriced and isn't worth the queue time. Teachers don't care about you and only care about how you look to give a 'good reputation' to the school. I come here to learn not to be sent in a room all day because of the colour of my hair or because ive got trainers on. I don't recommend Hawkley AT ALL.

This school has gone to absolute shame. I am so disappointed in what’s going on. The new head states she will change the school and all she has done is make sure all toilets are locked all day with only 1 open from the furthest block from students lessons which only 3 toilets out of the 500 girl students. And now not allowing them to go during lesson changeover and only in lesson if u have a toilet pass leaving children needing the toilet for up to 2:25 minutes. Now only 3 are open at lunch and break times leaving kids waiting in ques for over 15 minutes. Food prices have gone extremely high and it’s outrageous. Older students pushing in front and staff doing nothing about it. Young y7s being pushed and stepped on. AND staff can going in front of the hungry students getting their food when they shouldn’t be treated as higher instead as an equal. Most staff have left the school or becoming pregnant and I don’t blame them for wanting to receive that time off. New staff think they know all the rules and boss the students around like slaves. THIS HAS TO STOP. When dealing with incidents between staff and children they decide to suspend the children while under investigation and not the staff then and too busy to even let the parents know why or anything about the child’s suspension. They say they care about bulling yet many students are being bullied and they do nothing about it even when the students are crying during lessons they tell them to go back to lesson and come back at break and when expressing their emotions are called baby’s. And mental health does not matter in this school you can cry and feel very uncomfortable and the staff do not care. Only a small amount off staff listen to ur probables and try to resolve them but can’t do much as only higher slt can resolve and punish students. Slt takes up to 20 minutes to come to an on call leaving the students not able to learn till the problem is resolved. Recently a new staff member got in my face to the point she was spitting on me, cornered me in a room pointing at me and screaming at me to shut my mouth and saying she knows where I got my attitude from when saying she’s going to call my mother even tho she has never met her in her life. I am appalled by how this school has turned out. Sort this out now and parents NEVER send ur children to this school. ???

Doesnt even deserve a star. Teachers are absolute control freaks. Freedom of speech isn't allowed. Im convinced Inclusion staff are fascist, Toilets smell like vape. Every year the rules are changed to suit the teachers. Nearly Nothing benefits the students. Convinced they get people off the street and call them "supply".

Head teacher was a shambles of a man.. clutched at straws, when he really didn't have a clue. He wouldn't have known what bullying was if it came and sat next to him.. anything to deflect the blame away from him and the school. a proper chocolate fire guard.

Food cost way to much and losing a conduct card give you an after school detention with SLT.teachers don't give equipment and if you lose a pencil you get an detention. Teachers don't care about the students cafeteria is disgusting chair legs break leaving student with injuries.there are to many app that you have to accses for homework. all and all don't send you kid to hawkley it terrible
