Hawkley Hall High School

this school has messed up my child’s chance for in the future, growing up my child was motivated for school and never wanted to miss a day, all the way through his primary school journey my son was aiming for the highest grades and hitting everyone of them up until he attended this awful school, i would not recommend this school to anyone at all i wouldn’t even send vermin here as even those deserve better than this. This school also claims they have the highest rating for looking out for their students (absolute rubbish) my child has struggled with his mental health the past year due to situations which were unavoidable at home such as a family funeral, a family loss and finding out the news of a family member having incurable cancer which has therefore led him to have attendance below their expectation which was inevitable with his situation and is now not allowed to attend prom after everything he has been through, also i would like to mention if they do want children to attend what they call a school they should start growing a back bone and stick up against the ‘class clowns’ and suspend them instead of letting them impact all the other children’s learning and mental health, whilst on the topic of ‘class clowns’ i would like to mention this years yr11’s missed out their opportunity for their leavers assembly and didn’t get the full opportunity to get their shirt signed which is upsetting as the other students were punished due to as these teachers couldn’t even control a group of 40 teenagers (throwing water bottles full of water across the drama hall, shouting and spraying fart spray) as they are to scared to so how do these same teachers expect our children to attend this school when situations such as this take place. Now onto the topic of subjects my child felt as if he had to skip school everyday he had a certain lesson as this lesson was deemed unsafe to teach which again says it all about how teachers control classes, and by deemed unsafe to teach i mean throwing mortar at eachother, throwing water filled condoms around a classroom, throwing water at electronics, throwing chairs at fellow students and teachers, ripping cupboard doors off and hitting it off fellow students hands and thinking it is funny to throw food at students which my son was one of them and a item of food splattered over his new expensive coat which i do not appreciate what so ever. The whole school has become a joke and is becoming worse and worse as the years go on as the students can see that they hold the power over the teachers, in the space of a year this school has had 4 head teachers which obviously says a lot about the state of this school.
Anyway i highly recommend you don’t send your children here if you care about their mental health. DIABOLICAL SCHOOL

Shocking school, couldn’t care about bullying / mental health. Since y7 I’ve been bullied, followed home, jumped , chased, crowded, followed around school, name called none stop, drinks poured on my hair, chucked food at , laughed at, hit etc.. everyday!!! None stop and worser things. Reported many times 80% of the things I reported didn’t get sorted. And that’s when I started to have weeks off and give me bad advice saying have no reaction even tho if I sit there it carries on, no support gets in place, students are horrible , treat no one with respect, teacher made me have panic attack once, mostly bad staff and students . Will be taking it further

Absolute disgrace teachers speaking to students like crap I've took my 13 year old out today as a teacher embarrassed my daughter by telling his whole class something private about my daughter and when she asked why he had done it he told her to shut her gob this is just 1 incident at this shit hole

A lot of teachers left at the end of last year. This year my form teacher hasn't been in for more than three weeks so far also teachers on sick for no reason. The good is shit, overpriced and isn't worth the queue time. Teachers don't care about you and only care about how you look to give a 'good reputation' to the school. I come here to learn not to be sent in a room all day because of the colour of my hair or because ive got trainers on. I don't recommend Hawkley AT ALL.

This school has gone to absolute shame. I am so disappointed in what’s going on. The new head states she will change the school and all she has done is make sure all toilets are locked all day with only 1 open from the furthest block from students lessons which only 3 toilets out of the 500 girl students. And now not allowing them to go during lesson changeover and only in lesson if u have a toilet pass leaving children needing the toilet for up to 2:25 minutes. Now only 3 are open at lunch and break times leaving kids waiting in ques for over 15 minutes. Food prices have gone extremely high and it’s outrageous. Older students pushing in front and staff doing nothing about it. Young y7s being pushed and stepped on. AND staff can going in front of the hungry students getting their food when they shouldn’t be treated as higher instead as an equal. Most staff have left the school or becoming pregnant and I don’t blame them for wanting to receive that time off. New staff think they know all the rules and boss the students around like slaves. THIS HAS TO STOP. When dealing with incidents between staff and children they decide to suspend the children while under investigation and not the staff then and too busy to even let the parents know why or anything about the child’s suspension. They say they care about bulling yet many students are being bullied and they do nothing about it even when the students are crying during lessons they tell them to go back to lesson and come back at break and when expressing their emotions are called baby’s. And mental health does not matter in this school you can cry and feel very uncomfortable and the staff do not care. Only a small amount off staff listen to ur probables and try to resolve them but can’t do much as only higher slt can resolve and punish students. Slt takes up to 20 minutes to come to an on call leaving the students not able to learn till the problem is resolved. Recently a new staff member got in my face to the point she was spitting on me, cornered me in a room pointing at me and screaming at me to shut my mouth and saying she knows where I got my attitude from when saying she’s going to call my mother even tho she has never met her in her life. I am appalled by how this school has turned out. Sort this out now and parents NEVER send ur children to this school. 😡😡😡

About Hawley . Hawley is a good and bad place they don't understand u or eneything they make you sit in a room without eney food and you can't even have a good lesson because they just pick on one student like me I was in Hawley and everyone was talking throwig paper balls and I did and the teacher only screemed at me and I got removed without a chance but the good side is that some teachers will help you do your work and talk to you and even help you to get out of detention and they give you positives

Head teacher was a shambles of a man.. clutched at straws, when he really didn't have a clue. He wouldn't have known what bullying was if it came and sat next to him.. anything to deflect the blame away from him and the school. a proper chocolate fire guard.

LOOKING FOR A TRANSFER, IT’S JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH GCSE RESULTS TERRIBLE. MY DAUGHTER IS NOT LEARNIBG.THIS SHOOL IS A DISASTER .DO YOUR HOMEWORK. THERE ARE BETTER SCHOOLS IN THE AREA. SO DISAPPOINTING USED TO BE A GOOD SCHOOL :(

Food cost way to much and losing a conduct card give you an after school detention with SLT.teachers don't give equipment and if you lose a pencil you get an detention. Teachers don't care about the students cafeteria is disgusting chair legs break leaving student with injuries.there are to many app that you have to accses for homework. all and all don't send you kid to hawkley it terrible

Awful teachers who abuse their power over students, overpriced food and overly strict rules. Feels like prison

Don’t get me wrong, some teachers are great, maybe about 5/100 of them. But every single day my daughter wakes up crying, begging me not to go to school because of how terrible it is. One day, after an extremely vile incident at break involving her being threatened by many people and her friends bullying her, she started bawling her eyes out in lesson, she went to the office and they told her to go back to lesson and come back at break 🤬! She tried to message me to let me know what was going on but the teachers wouldn’t let her!! She came back at break and they said that they would let her leave 5 mins early so at the end of the day they went to pick her up. Once they came, the pupils in her class were laughing at her as she got up and with 2 teachers in the classroom, they did absolutely nothing but ignored the fact that everyone was laughing at her! The next day they put up a video in form about bullying and how it’s bad. I lost my mind at that point because they put ‘you can come talk to anyone we will help you asap’, do they fuck!!! Recently, my daughter had been called racist things which I will not repeat, it took the teachers a week to get up and go sort it out because they couldn’t be bothered!!! They people calling my daughter said they never said those things, so the teachers didn’t believe my daughter!!! I honestly wish I could go in there and punch them all!!! The teachers do not help your kids at all when learning, when a child is stuck and asks the teacher for help, the teacher says that ‘they didn’t listen’ or something along the lines and walk off! Then the child always ends up with bad results on their exams because they didn’t get the help they needed! As well as in the canteen, my daughter never gets the food she wants because the older students always push!!! The teacher see this and act blind!!! The children there are horrible, picking fights everyday! Once, my daughter had gone through something terrible and broke down at school. At break. She went to the office and they noticed she had a little bit of mascara on, so they screamed at her, made her wipe it off, gave her a detention and sent her out!!! 🤬🤬 the kids here will 1000000% pick on your child for anything! Also, the teachers are ‘allowed’ to push in front of the kids in the canteen to get their food first before the kids. They don’t let your kids go to the bathroom even if a girl is on her period!! If your child is late. They give them a 15 minute detention even if they have a reason! Unbelievable! I am so disgusted by this school and so many bad reports have come towards the school, they say that ‘they are going to make a difference’ but they don’t do anything to try!
