DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL

This school is shocking! It is on this SA list. They shout at you when you don’t get a question at they say “you wasn’t listening” or “you can your just being lazy”. They need a new headteacher and definitely a new change! I got bullied for being emo when I went there and nothing was done. Someone got pushed down the stairs and got two days isolation. They don’t have anything fun like non uniform and I will not be sending my child here when there in secondary school. They make out that they only say “kind words” yet none of the students there (apart from a fair few) are nice. They make the children act smart when offsted come in and tell them to be kind to offested and also say “hi” and say that we are the best school in the country. You get a sanction if you don’t have equipment and yes I know you get in trouble if you don’t bring your equipment to work but there children. They have enough stress with school work, tests and GCSE and ontop thinking what they want to do when they leave school. Yr 7 and 8 have to do line up and end up missing about 5 or 10 minutes of learning yet they complain that if you go to the toilet during lesson you disrupt others learning and miss there own learning. They have to go to the toilet during break even though they have only one block each which have six toilets for about 60, 70 children plus more because they have to share break with other years. At dinner year 7 and 8 have to sit in the dining hall with there form and not there friends and if you move tables to sit with your friend you get a sanction. Tjey are forced to come up to the front and say an appreciation before they can go outside and talk to their friends. Me and my friend spoke to ofsted and told them all the bad things yet ofsted still told them that there the best school.

Heritage high school is bad

Won’t allow a non uniform day someone’s got a detention for sipping water. Can’t go to the toilet in lesson unless you have a toilet pass really bad. Bullying: someone in my old year they were pushed down a flight of stairs the person who did it only got two days of isolation(detention) but then was released early for “good” behaviour. People get bullied for being emo, goth, grunge, punk or just being different. Some got beat up severely and only got 1 week isolation again.

I prefer angry pitbulls than the headteacher

This school is a complete and utter disgrace. The teachers are clearly underpaid and overworked. The students are rude and never seem to listen or do their work properly. The facilities are old and falling apart, and the food is barely edible. I would strongly advise against sending your children to this school, it is a complete waste of time and money.

don't send your kid here!!!!!

this school is so bad i would not send a pig to it. rude staff, locked doors(looks like a prison and feels like one told to me buy students and staff), no one listen to your voice, bullying, staff so rude to children and when the children talk back it gets them done. forcing children to act like adults when i can 100% recon that when the teachers where their ages they would off done the exact same things.
staffing is unbelievable some good staff yet others are horrible. the safety is overdone making them feel trapped and like they can't leave. the indoor environment is strange the smell is horrific and the rooms are like cages

Heritage High School

Can't believe children are getting away with bullying in this day and age. I've heard multiple accounts of bullying and the punishment being worse for forgetting equipment than what it is for the bullying! Surely the severity of bullying and the safety of children and them wanting to go to school and having a good time in eduction would be more important than forgetting a book or a ruler.

The School

This school is absolutely TERRIBLE! I had been sexually assaulted by another student, and the school did absolutely nothing about it. The other student is actually still allowed to roam around school, capability of harassing other students. The education is genuinely quite good but their way of dealing with harassment is in fact, horrendous. I could make a whole list here of the things wrong with this school, everything is wrong and disgusting about it. I hope nobody else ends up like me.

hate it

hate it so much all that they care about it uniform. give you detentions for the smallest things ever and even lock the doors on the blocks so that you can’t get out to the toilet without a pass to unlock the door a student needed to toilet and the teacher wouldn’t let them go it got that bad that they couldn’t hold it anymore and ended up having an accident honestly the stupidest rules ever. in lessons with the teachers picking on you to answer a question is just horrible it makes you feel dumb it’s puts you under pressure and is just embarrassing and if you don’t know the answer then they will make out you haven’t been listening and all that when they’ve only gave you one example then expect you to be able to get all the answers right. some teacher don’t even give you enough time to write the things you need to down then punish you for not doing enough work it’s stupid

Good changes

New behaviour policy is welcomed. My child has better lessons now as they can concentrate without the disruption. Uniform is much smarter. Changes made for the better and will continue to improve

Terrible

No, not a great school, rating it two stars because some teachers there are decent,
Acting headteacher changed rules to everyone needs a black bag and clear pencil case, why you may ask? Because it improves our learning-
It doesn't, I also deal a great amount of teasing in class I don't like and the teachers watch it happen
They favourite the sportier kids
And they say your not seated for pe but you can really tell it is as all the sporty kids are in a higher set then the not so sporty

Brunch has been cut to 20 minute, and the wait line is around a 10 minute thing if your at the back.

First period will now be 80 minutes so the kids can read for 20, they also don't help with mental health, they just say, oh it's cause your not paying attention to lessons or lessons will keep your mind of it

DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD DO THIS SCHOOL!

DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE… the staff are appalling , rest assured your child will come to this school being as intelligent as anything and leave with no knowledge . my experience here was terrible incidents are dealt with terribly, people are wrongly punished for the positive things , and bullying is ridiculous , in my time at this school i have never once felt safe and always had my guard up, there’s a reason this school has a 2.5 rating and i think we can all agree it should have less.

Decent school

The school has many ways it is helpful. A lot of the staff are always there and happy ro help you if you are struggling in lesson. The school is set up in a way that makes it easy for the students to find their way around, and each building is clearly marked.

There are the issues with certain teachers. They very clearly pick favourites - whom they help the most - and their least favourites - who they will often try to avoid. Their favourites will hardly ever get any punishments, but their least favourites could get minus points for amply asking a friend for help.

Bullying is also an issue. Whether it be out of school or in school, nothing is done about it. There are plenty of circumstances where bullying has been something they claim to have dealt with, yet actually they do nothing. Especially if it is a report against repeat offenders.

The school claims to be LGBTQ+ friendly, and most of the staff are, however there are some you can see that have said it is "wrong" for, for example, 2 boys to be hugging.

One good thing about the school is that there is always support available. There are teachers that have been mental health trained that you can go to who will try to help. A few reviews are commenting on thwm being referred to CAMHS, but that as a school is a requirement if it is serious, for example self harm. So yes, students may be referred, but support in school has always been available, even if students don't believe it is. There are time out passes, which can be received from a year manager, to leave lesson for 5 to 10 minutes if you are getting anxious or stressed.

One place the school falls short on mental health is with support plans. Although these can be created, it seems rare that teachers actually read them. And if agreements are made based kn your support plan, teachers may ridicule you for it and make you feel terrible. This is rare, and when reported is usually dealt with in a timely manner though.

hellish school

genuinely was such a hellish experience. mental health was at the worst it’s ever been & no one at the school cared. ended up being out of school tutored which was provided by cahms & the school never sent me any work, just seemed that they couldn’t be bothered. bullying was awful too & the pastoral staff were useless. the only teacher that offered any support was mrs hughes & without her i would not have made it through the 3 years i was there. the school is just awful with mental health issues & only cares if you’re getting top grades. would never recommend.

Only good for lessons

The school is alright, but the bullying at this school is terrible. Teachers don't do anything about it, they are just there to do their job, really. There was one time someone put milk on me and my friend, my mum phoned up the school and they said they would do something about it, but they did nothing. A couple days ago, A group of boys shoved one of their heads into my arm while I was trying to avoid them. Also, being a year 7 sucks too because they get the most bullying. The older years always target them.

They also have strict uniform policies, particularly for the girls. Your skirt has to be at knee length, but then the PE skirt is just below your bottom, which doesn't make sense. Recently, they changed the school logo, so parents had to be out of a lot of money trying to replace the blazers and PE kit.

I would not go to this school, but it is the only school within miles of my home, so I have to go there. Pretty much the only reason to be there is for an education, nothing else is actually good about it.

Heritage High School

Although the school is decent in the ways of the lessons and what/how they teach, there's a lot that I and many others don't like. The uniform policy is contradictory to say the least, especially for the girls (i.e. the shirts can't be fitted and the skirts have to be at the knee, yet the PE kits is fitted top with a skort that stops just below the butt). Teachers have obvious favourites at times, and certain ones give out minus points for the smallest of things. The students that do right all the time rarely get rewarded, but they talk a little in lesson once and they're sent out: the the opposing, the ones that tend to receive minus points get positive points every time they do something right, and excessive amounts too. Bullying is dealt with, but not to a point the bullying ceases.

Was so bad

Honestly this school is the worse left 2 years ago was bullied for 4 years told to suck it up and in recent events they won’t let a child who is suffering from hair loss due to medical reasons and illness they won’t let her wear a cap or hoodie to improve her confidence even if it was personalised for the school would not recommend sending children here

Worst school ever

Absolutely terrible did nothing about bullying for around 2 years. Mum went up to school everyday and she got told it was my fault eventhough it wasnt. Suffered major depression from the amount of bullying.
