Hodgson Academy

On paper this is apparently the best school in the area. Maybe it is for those who are academic and who are going to get decent grades to maintain the schools reputation. For the children that dont fit into this bracket, Hodgson Academy isnt the environment for them.
They dont deal with any problems at all. They sweep serious issues under the carpet and are all about academia.
The pastoral team is useless and bullying goes on daily here.
The school isnt what it once was.

To do well in this school you definitely need to already have a certain level of intelligence. If you’re someone who struggles in a subject, not much is done to support and help you. The school is much rather focused on other things. Even if you ask for extra help, little to no help is provided.

Another thing that annoyed me about Hodgson is the fact only students that maintain high grades get awarded. Throughout the year and after GCSE’s it was clear that the only students who received awards were the ones who consistently achieved high grades throughout their time at school. Although this is something to appreciate, those who struggle with school were not noticed. Those who improved their grades and worked immensely hard for it weren’t appreciated and massively overlooked.

Apart from this the school does well in achieving good grades and has decent teachers.

Pastoral is rubbish , you go to them for help and nothing gets sorted many bullies in the school when it says "bully free zone" the teaching is good but you need to be comfortable to be able to learn so therefore they need to sort it out
