Hollingworth Academy

It’s such a bad school for pupils,it’s like a prison. Kids get shouted at for the stupidest reasons ever. Some teacher should no be there. If you’re sick they don’t do anything.

i’m going to be 1000% honest this school is disgusting! they sexualise appearance for example socks , bows in hair , tiny piercings not visible and they exclude you for how you look and mess up your education and future over one tiny thing wrong. i understand strict from a behaviour perspective but looks should not effect the way we learn, they preach individuality but they don’t allow necklaces (even crucifix’s) , a teacher asked if hijabs were allowed were allowed for example. things that don’t seem relevant to a child’s welfare or education is regularly scrutinised, and it feels like the school is more interested in looking good rather than actually being good. Children are taken to isolation for cosmetic appearances or told to stay at home until a piercing is removed for example and it feels like personal opinions are over shadowing general educational welfare. they have a staff shortage meaning unprofessionals / cover teachers are teaching most lessons atm.

Many of the staff seem to not care very much about their jobs. I never had any problems with my fellow students but the teachers always treated pupils with little respect and just a general lack of care. There were a few good teachers but the majority of them enforced rules on the pupils that seemingly only existed to belittle us. I wish that some of the teachers at Hollingworth cared a bit more about their pupils, as I think I could have gotten better grades if that was the case. One head of year used to completely ignore many of mine and many of my friends issues wether it be at home or in school, she notoriously cared very little and everyone I’ve spoken to has said the same.
