Idris Davies School 3 to 18

What an absolute joke of a school the receptionists should be sacked and never work in schools at all. every time we call they never answer or will be very rude. In an emergency situation they would definitely put the kids in danger. The teachers are even worse apart from mr Davies who is the only good teacher there. Unfortunately he's leaving so god help those kids. Would get rid of everyone there and start fresh

I got bullied in year 7 and throughout year 8 the bullying went down a little but never fully stopped. I had at least 2 meetings with the headteacher of the school and nothing at all was done, only my bully was pulled out of class once and that only made the situation worse. They don't care about you or your mental health, they just make sure your well behaved and in the right uniform. I'm going into year 9 now and might be leaving this school if it doesn't up it's game.

If I could I wouldn't even give this school a one star rating. If you have any children who are neurodiverse this school is not the place for them to be. Unless you have a diagnois already the school will not believe you when you tell them they have signs of being neurodiverse and they will blame it on 'home life' instead of looking into things further, until they decide to and by then its too late and you wont be looking at a diagnosis until they are in comprehensive if not later. They will spend more time sending your child/children home than trying to find ways to help them feel settled and safe in school. They will be put on reduced timetables and not given any chances to gain more time and always look for ways and excuses to keep them on a reduced timetable. Their education will slip so much that they then hate going to school even more because they can see that their class mates are now miles ahead of them in their learning, making them feel even worse than what they already do going to Idris Davies. There is so much bullying going on here and a lot of the teachers and the heads do absolutely nothing to help the children being bullied if anything they protect the bullies even more. You can complain to the school as much as you like about your child/children being bullied and you will be told that no members of staff witnessed this happening so it didn't happen even when your child comes home with marks, cuts or lumps from their bullies. The school is currently trying to make their own nurture programme in the primary phase when they can't even help the students they have there who are struggling with school life and won't even get in the resources like a 1 to 1 to help your child/children. If they do because they've been told by the local authorities to do so it won't be long before they are taken away again for no good reasons and then not given anymore even if they build a good relationship with their 1 to 1. This school lies about everything they can and you will never get anywhere with them no matter how hard you try. For your own piece of mind and your child/childrens safety and well-being, do not send them here

Wish I could give it a zero !! The school and the new head mistress are both a joke . Three times I have been ringing about the bullying against my child and still no call back , but yet they phone me when my other child has played up . The bullying is extreme and they don't care , they more concerned with attendance and school uniform ( which is 1 rule for the girls and 1 for the boys ) . The head is a joke how she got the job I do not know . Pupils put in a room for not wearing the uniform yet others are allowed to bully , sell vapes and do basically what they want and nothing said . Bring back teachers like meredith James, Mr Davies both them teachers were outstanding and cared about the children's well being & education and gained respect from pupils and parents . The head mistress now hasn't got a clue even one of her staffs children is a bully there and not once has action been taken against her .AVOID THIS SCHOOL

i’m a student at the school, place is pathetic, they don’t care about nobody staff are bully’s they can come up into your face and when you use one bit of bad language cause they stress you out the school takes there side if the teachers are coming into kids faces there in the wrong job they got well being rooms that are never open they exclude kids for the smallest problems they said at the start of this academic year they will be monitoring CCTV and when students are stuck they will come and let them through but if they do came it’s like 40 mins into lesson so they will more than likely exlude you for that or take you to lessons and then you’ll get sent out for being late you cannot win with them school is pathetic.

Wish I could say lower. This school is a shambles , the headmistress doesn't want any child to.have an opinion it's her way or out .my child has been excluded twice for stupid things , pushing in dinner queue and leaving classroom to go to the toilet .in their words he was rude ummm he wanted to go toilet before he had accident . There's cameras everywhere and all doors are locked it's like a prison camp only different prisoners are treated better . If has a parent u have a problem don't bother trying to get it sorted in their eyes it didn't happen . The bullying & fighting is ridiculous again the school says it don't happen but yet the videos of it shared amongst pupils . If your child has any special needs this is the worse school in Wales they haven't a clue ..I would love for them to have an inspector go there un announced so they can't ship the opinionated kids away for the day

This school is a complete joke, the teachers are horrible they scream in the children's faces, blame the children for stuff that they didn't do. They excluded a child for defending themselves. Absolutely horrific!!!!!!!!!!

Yo might think oh another ungrateful kid complaining while reading this review but this is how idris is run for some reason you cant use your phones at your break or lunch time your own time cant even check what lessons you have on your phone no coats dont matter if your freezing to death the food is rancid id personally rather eat from a bin stuff to do at break or lunch is sit aimlessly waiting for it to end or get verbally abused by a random kid i mean no schools are perfect but this is like a prison camp you have a 3min walk to ponty where you could buy your own food from the shops but no its too dangerous to walk over there you can only walk there when you go home the staff are aight school it equipment is good but heavily monitored no fun on them pcs every flash game site or other is blocked cant even get chrome extensions school safety is good because there are a camera in every room thats not even my being sarcastic there is genuinely a camera in almost every room say bye bye to privacy the indoor environment is constantly being trashed by others but no one cares to punish the kids that do it outdoor environment is just benches school info you will get the day before it happens which is not ideal and there are practically no school activities to do throughout the day so if i were you id skip this one

The school is a complete joke. The bullying is terrible. If you get bullied, there no point about telling a teacher about it cause they won't give a damm. The teachers are useless they not teach us anything important at all. If you want to send you kid to a good school pick some other school cause this one is just horrible.

Found a cool stick once (best memory there), feel bad for the students and few good teachers if any are left. Please just go somewhere else if you care about your kids well-being

People have been getting bullied and threatened to get pushed in front of a moving bus they never do anything about it and the staff needs to do their job properly including well-being teachers and the corridors always had food in them absolutely disgusting!!!

This school is a joke run like a prison camp And taught by clowns who believe in bullying and leaves it happen They definitely need a visit from the education system to see how it is run it’s cold no access to toilet unless supervised wow

Had a nosebleed and couldn't clean up because the toilets are always locked no matter what, corridor doors often get locked and then teachers complained about us being late, Had a blue painted corridor that would've made moving around the school so much easier but they wouldn't let us use it and forced us to go outside and around, not allowed in the reception either, headmaster doesn't prioritise what's important and the staff focus on uniform rather than teaching anything, people in set 1 receive extra opportunities while the others are ignored, breaks were too short, teachers complain if you're there early and don't go into the class to get ready but then complain if you let yourself in, nothing done about bullying, vile imagery and videos end up circulating and the staff will do nothing, etc. Overall it's a bad school ran by an egotist.

Idris Davies primary is a joke!!if your child is being bullied no point telling teacher because they do not care ,best thing to do advise your kid too hit back. Most of the teachers have their favourites so if your child is not 1 of them they have little help & recognition. They have no patience with special need children I have witnessed this with my own 2 eyes.i would never recommend this school , if you want your child to succeed and grow in confidence best school to send them is fochriw

Wish I never sent my children to this school. It seems if your child’s face don’t fit with some of the teachers any incidents that happens and your child is there they are automatically at fault. It’s like they want small classes and the way to do that is to suspend pupils at any given opportunity. Some teachers are not interested in passing on knowledge they just want to turn up and get paid. The leadership and understanding in the headmaster is like putting a drunk in charge of a bar, useless. Think it’s time the school had an unannounced visit off the school inspectors. To say this school is below par is an understatement .
