Jarrow School

Love this school, in year 9 and been through a covid lockdown. Teachers still kept in touch and facilities are perfect.

This school can only be good if you’re high. The male teachers are extremely sexist and only adhere to entertaining the boys. They rub the wrong way. The female teachers are quite a bit better, for the most part they’re welcoming and very friendly. I can only be glad the head teacher isn’t a man, god knows what it would be like. The homophobia is very prominent and if you’re gay you don’t have much of a chance of being liked. There’s way too many chavs. You walk through the halls and all you smell is fake tan and cheap Victoria secret. The year sevens need controlling honestly. Steer clear of a certain few students, they’re dangerously toxic.

The school has went majorly downhill over the past five years. Students don’t have respect like they used to and the other staff are constantly pushing my buttons. As sad as it is to say i think i am losing my passion for teaching. The problems of the school are deeply rooted with the head teacher falling out of touch with all of the reasons she got the job. I’m sick of my job here and i am thinking about changing to go teach somewhere else, this school is beyond help this time. If you’d like a list of incidents that have caused me to feel this way i’ll bullet point below: • Head teacher (who will remain nameless) is extremely condescending and treats staff differently depending on how much she likes them • It’s been a while now but a few years ago i got called to the male students toilets to guard it because one of them took a poo, in the urinal. • Students are constantly being removed from my class into other classes at their parents request pretty much because the students don't like that i won’t tolerate bad behaviour • Bikes being stolen on school premises when locked up “safely” and the school refusing to pay the poor victims • My fellow english teachers trying to justify the use of the N word when reading out certain texts and novellas. There isn’t an excuse, it’s not for historical context, you can still skip the printed word. It’s plain racist. • I’m called to help up break fights constantly. • Kids have made inappropriate and sexual harassment type comments about me.
