GCSE

No SEN provision for mental health.

On behalf of my children, who currently attend this school. It has become abundantly clear, that this school has no understanding, empathy and a serious lack of professionalism regarding their mental health. All the school is worried about are funds, or lack of them, when they’re not in school.
Their favourite saying is, “we can support”. Rubbish, they don’t have the SEN provision in place for mental health, thus they can’t offer the appropriate support and education, by appropriately qualified people. They have the literature, but the school hides behind it. They have a SEN qualified coordinator in the school, but they don’t use or involve them.
According to a head of house in the school. Anxiety is just anxiety, and your child is using it as an excuse not to come to school. Nice man.
Unfortunately, this is a family that will fight all the way, and guide others who need help.

Chaotic Management

5 years of dealing with chaotic, unhelpful school management has finally ended.

I gave Kennet my bright, confident, school loving child and they returned an anxious, nervous 16 year old. There was not one day attending that school when my child felt safe and respected or I, as a parent, felt supported.

Horrible Place

Absolutely appalling school. Teachers do not care about students what so ever. The noise disruption in classrooms is shocking. Fights on site all the time - I was concerned for my own safety there. Do not send your kids to kennet. You get get them far better education elsewhere. Does not handle bullying - incidents well. Glad that im gone.

It’s a good school overall

most of all the teachers are really nice and the clubs and courses themselves are good. the rules could be changed (only a few). Ive been a student at this school for a while and i can see how people would put a good review but honestly i’ve changed so much since being here. The only thing i’d say is that most if not all disadvantaged kids don’t get alot of attention, for example. if you have trouble at home with mental health they will put a notice up on their website but that’s really all. However, there are teachers there that will listen and are genuinely good people

Interesting

Was an interesting experience, would probably not recommend for anyone on the autism spectrum or anyone with anything other than perfect mental health

Horrible place

Not once did i feel safe going to this school, nor did i feel the teachers cared about me. All the teachers care about at this school is the naturally smart people who are destined to get straight 9’s, if you’re not one of those people, good luck. secondary school here was the worst experience of my life and i don’t think i’ll ever go back to the way i was before i went here. I cannot say enough how against I am sending your child to this school. I now go to a new school for 6th form and I am so much happier than I was here.

Kennet is no good, save yer kids

This school is not very good

They hide behind an fisted review from 2014 and think they are the best

Most of the teachers are petty and they’re management of covid is very bad

Covid rules:

No no-zip sweatshirts allowed
No long hair for boys
No nails to be painted
No earrings or studs

This school needs to make serious rules and not petty rubbish about other stuff
