This school is awful
The school is a cesspool of bullying and abuse that is completely ignored by teachers. I've seen people put in headlocks and beaten and the teachers say stop quietly and then walk away. Many teachers obviously hate children and the only good ones are few and far between. Mental health is an actual joke to these people and don't even think you might get away with uniform problems. Don't have shoes or a note but it's obvious your shoes are broke? Hour detention. Late to class because the hallways are packed and the one way system makes you travel around the whole school? Hour detention and if you even try and correct some of the teachers or explain an honest mistake you better hope you only get an hour of detention. The kids who deserve detentions don't go and then evolve which is basically isolation is just a day off of time table. This school is truly awful and after being at it for a few years I can safely say don't go because it will only leave you with sadness and hatred for what should be some of the best years
worst school ever :(
detentions are stupid no point. behaviour points nobody gives one. homework wasting time so you can't hangout with family and friends. their school meals are absolutely disgracefull thats why children don't eat. apparently they have sorted bullies when they actually make it worse. say people can't go to prom over the stupidest things. my child comes home crying she is going into year 9 this year but I'm not telling their name or gender. teachers 'respect' our children yeah right. everybody should get to go to prom wether their bad or good they need to have fun after they leave the school.

Bullying ruins the school
Good school on the whole unless you do something the school deams wrong which I get sometimes can be petty but usually the rules are quite reasonable. The lessons and the amount you absorb from those lessons depend on the teacher if the teacher is unfair you tend to loose focus on what you are doing and end up feeling behind . The only main bad part about this school is the students , don't get me wrong a handful are really nice but some aren't if you are deemed by anyone as different they leap onto you , they bully you and your friend group and nothing gets done about it. The amount of people who just go watch a fight when it happens is absolutely pathetic unless you are going too go help the situation e.g. stop it or help someone who is getting ganged up on , don't go watch . I have only ever been in the middle of one fight and that was to break it up because 2 of my friends were involved . To be fair I wouldn't suggest this school to anyone due to the sole fact of the students, the school tries to change their ways and make better people of them but at the end of the day they don't want to meet them half way ,especially the ones who think they are better than everyone else , Sorry LJS
Just a bit meh
Never really did anything for the students apart from teach. A kid in my year died qnd they barely even mentioned it, let alone nake any counselling offers for his friends. Some of the teachers are alright though

i’m pretty sure a convicted serial killer gets let off with an easier sentencing then what a student must face for 5 years at this compound. if you struggle mentally do not come here i was excluded on multiple occasions because i was having panic attacks so bad i felt like i was on deaths door step, i even collapsed and fainted from it one time just for the nurse to claim i was faking it and that i “realistically should be sent straight back to lessons” due to them treating me like this i wasn’t allowed to go to prom and missed the day that my mam was so excited for me to experience for the whole 5 years i was there if you’re wanting a good reason to come here there isn’t one unless you count form which is like 15 minutes of freedom, even the teachers bullied me for a situation that happened a few years back which they weren’t even allowed to talk about to do safeguarding reasons but it still didn’t stop them, only person i can really say helped me was the director of school improvement big up my G 🙏
Worst school ever!
I went to this school since the beginning and it's a really bad school, if you're looking for a school for your kids don't go there. The teachers are the absolute worse! There's only 3 teachers who really supported me and my friends. I went through countless mental breakdowns due to stress, teachers, and homework reasons. Absolute worst part of my childhood spent on that school
A strange school, not recommended
If I'm being honest this school has more downsides than positives, I can really only think of one positive. Let's start off with academics and teachers! LJS isn't a bad school when it comes to learning, but it's the teachers that make things bad. Through my first year of school, I learned nothing in computing or French (which is why I now take Spanish). My computing teacher was never in and my French teacher was horrible. Some of the teachers are horrible and have extremely bad-tempers all the time, especially the head of IT and the head teacher. The indoor and outdoor environment is terrible. Outside is boring, just a concrete ground with a few benches. And the inside? The only fun about it is the colourful hallways. When it comes to bullying and safety, I could go on for hours about how bad it is. The school doesn't even deal with bullying properly. The bully just gets a call from the school. "shouldn't the parents sort their child out?". The answer is yet, but guess what? It NEVER happens. The only thing the school cares about is impressing off stead. They don't care about students mental or physical health. On the topic of physical health, the nurses room. The 'nurse' isn't even a nurse! She's just some random woman with a small amount of fisrt aid training. She used to work in a hall as a caterer! I would say the only thing good about the school is the variety of sports activities. You can do things like dancing, gymnastics, football, basketball, netball, softball, handball, tennis, badminton and more! Everything else is bland and boring, like the schools food. I feel like this school has taught me nothing at all. It's pretty disappointing.
A strange school
If I'm being honest, the education isn't that bad. The thing that is bad, is, well, a lot of things. First of all, some of the teachers are stuck up and horrible. Others, barely teach you. Through my first year of school, I was barely taught anything, especially in computing classes. Another reason why the school isnt the best is because they have a terrible way with dealing with bullying. If someone reports a bullying, they just phone your parents. You might be thinking, "but the parents should sort them out, shouldn't they? ". That rarely ever happens. The school is more focused on having offstead being impressed than the mental and physical health of students. On the topic of physical health, the nurses room. The "nurse" isn't even a nurse. She worked in a hall as a caterer, no first aid training at all until recently. It's either a phone home for mum and dad to pick you up, or an ice pack and paper towel. A positive about the school is the variety of sports that can be done. As it is a sports school, there are many different things you can do. Some examples are badminton, tennis, football, netball, basketball, cricket, rounders and many more!
I don’t recommend
Get bullied every day, school have done nothing to support me, mental health doesn’t matter to them as long as you are In school learning things you won’t ever need on adult life I’m 15 and dont know the difference between left and right but I can expand double brackets with no issue, the school is too strict with rules, if you don’t have any school shoes for example they are broken or you have blisters which isn’t your fault you are put in reflection all day everyday until you get some school shoes, trying to buy school shoes is a nightmare as some people have different shaped feet/struggle with laces and the shoe option is very limited, you can’t move in the corridors as the corridors are really thin and due to the one way system you can be late for lessons as you don’t get long to get to lessons for the amount of space there is in the corridors.

Fair enough I learnt things academically but by god there was no support from any teachers. Mental health issues were like non existent to them. Bullied by teachers.
Student hate
People get pushed into lockers, food is shit I can make better and im 15 with no cooking skills,the amount of homework is ridiculous it's got me up all night then I have to wake up at 8:00am for online learning. It make me want to top myself, lots of kids are depressed and the uniform is discuting and uncomfortable

The management in here is awful. Kids walking away from staff. Throwing food. Swearing screaming the lot. I’ve seen videos of it and it’s awful and so scary

Good teachers who go to great lengths to help students and lessons are just fine. The building isnt great however and with a new 1 way system students are often forced through the same space as 100s of others but other than that it's a good school.
