Leedon Lower School

It was quite a few years ago since I attended and looking back Leedon was exactly what I needed. It showed me education in a way I hadn't seen it done before and really encouraged creativity. I had a difficult childhood but Leedon guided me in the right direction. I remember one of the teachers would stay behind and she'd bring her jewelry kit and we'd all make really cool stuff. It's such a nice place for your child to be, at least thats how it was for me. I left just as they were introducing the farm animals, which was interesting. There isn't a bad thing I could really say although I don't know how much it's changed. I just feel like it really cultivated my creativity and my soul after moving to the UK from a very conservative country. I had never seen teaching like that before. They would help us create and edit films THAT WE WOULD MAKE, we would write stories and paint on the pages and sit together for circle time and show and tell. They even had friendship bench. If you have a creative child, Leedon is all you could ask for. It's a blessing. Wish me luck in my steadily approaching GCSEs!

I hated this school. Probably wasn’t all bad looking back now but I was relentlessly and constantly bullied through all years - people would run from me saying I was dirty and gross and push me over on the playground. One time one girl told everyone in my year that I didn’t wash and everyone hated me. I told teachers multiple times and so did my mum, but nothing was ever done- not even a conversation with said bullies. Meals were atrocious, staff was strict, I left school being behind in learning, and for a period of time we were forced into Christian practices like saying grace and singing hymns! This was a long time ago and I know the school has changed lots but the headmaster is the same.
