Llangatwg Community School

My daughter received a pre penalty notice from Llangatwg school, regarding my Grandsons attendance. Why I am writing this review, is the fact nobody seems interested. The letter explains why the letter had been sent out and that she may in future have a penalty of £120, which is a lot of money to a single mother of six. The issue is she rang the school on Wednesday asking to speak with the head of year, was told she would ring my daughter after lunch, however this didn’t happen. My daughter rang back, the secretary said the head of year was teaching and assured her that the head of year would definitely ring at the end of school this did not happen. My daughter rang the school Thursday morning, again she spoke with the secretary told her that the head of year had not rang her. The head of year happen not to be on site, but she said that she would get the assistant head of year to ring her definitely. Again this didn’t happen, so today my daughter went into school this morning to speak the head of year she was told that she was in teaching. So my daughter said she wanted to speak with someone today, she was given an appointment at 14:20. My daughter felt she wasn’t listened to she was told that the notice my daughter was given, if my grandson’s attendance didn’t improve in 15 days she would receive the £120 fine. Next week is half term, my daughter said that it shouldn’t count however the Head teacher didn’t have a clue leaving my daughter up in the air . I realise it was near the end of the day and half term next week, but it seems there was very little interest. It’s very disappointing, as the letter clearly said contact the school and a member of staff will be only be to happy to help. How wrong.

I dropped out of school due to them absolutely destroying my mental health, throughout my time at school was absolute hell, i would constantly get bullied and the teachers didn’t care, they banned me from english for no reason at all so now im not going to get an english gcse, i also got banned from maths because a group of boys would call me names constantly and throw books, pens, rulers etc at me one day i threw a book back and got banned, the teachers are extremely sexist, homophobic and racist, they cannot control the kids they act like apes on crack, most the students are addicted to weed/vape/cocaine etc, there’s one girl in year 11 and she is on every drug under the sun she comes in with black eyes and sometimes even bleeding eyes, she can’t walk straight etc and they don’t do anything about it, this school is absolutely terrible, they tried to make me come back and i begged them not to but they didn’t care so i ended up overdosing in the school toilets due to rather dying than going back and one of the teachers said i was just looking for attention

This is a bloody disgrace. i also beg your finest pardon?!?I do not appreciate the goveners or ward taking away the Y bont, Y bont is a big part of some pupils education and the bont has helped many pupils in many different ways y bont is a special and safe place to some and pupils need the bont, the bont is here for a reason so taking away the bont from others after its helped pupils and improved their lives, education and home situations,y bont is very helpful and pupils need y bont to help them in mainstream and outside of main stream, as a teenager in this generation i dont think anyone understands more than the people and staff in y bont, the bont is something that has helped alot of pupils, the bont is a place where we feel safe and cared about. Miss phillips is at best in the bont and is the best. all pubils and staff in v bont are autted. Shame on You Ward Jones...i will snap your neck off you smelly rat, if you continue with this choice of yours. we all simply need the bont and the school wouldn’t be anything without the bont, miss phillips has tried her best and still is , miss brown is trying too , the bont needs to stay .. Really bad school, One of the teachers were touching a Year 10 Girl, Another one ragged a student around. Really shitty school and the teachers don't know how to teach. They have really bad communication and don't tell perents anything. The teachers dont know there own policies and break GDPR.

When I was in llangatwg a year ago the walls where filled with used period pads one of the teachers came up to me with the used period pad and said did you do this I said no get it away from me and the teacher continued to rub the used period pad in my face and started singing CPR by cupcake

a couple years ago when I was in year 8 the head teacher in acting ward jones told me that he hopes i disappear off the face of earth and im a disgrace to my family and he don’t think im gonna go anyway in life and also another teacher threatened to spar me and they don’t do anything abot bullying, the first person that tells a teacher there side of a argument they automatically believe them because there the first to tell and it’s very unfair the toilets are really scruffy and they don’t clean the canteen which is very unhygienic please sort the school out.

It just wasn’t me they didn’t care about anything and if we was getting bullied they wouldn’t do anything the head teacher was never in and if he was he was all ways busy

llangatwg school is a terrible school to learn at. a few years ago they had rats at the school which is terrible for their hygiene rating. adding on they are very unprofessional with students, it goes from some of the male teachers being perverts and touching the students inappropriately and one of the female teachers a while ago had a relationship with a student. it gets even worse, most of the teachers that are in the wrong are still at this school. recently at female teacher had kicked a young student and was suspended for 6 months which is a step in the right direction but is only a small dent in what needs to be fixed at this awful school.

The learning/teaching itself is good at the school, how students are treated and act isn’t, especially with the Corona Virus.
I finished my last year in year 11 in March 2020. We finished early obviously due to the Corona Virus, however we was supposed to start social distancing in the school, yet they hadn’t started it like other schools.
This year- my younger brother started year 7 and he hasn’t been doing social distancing at all. He is constantly shouted at for absolutely nothing and punished for nothing. The toilets are always grubby, same with the canteen. They need to improve massively.
