Poor staffing and communication
I left a review because of the poor staffing and bad communication with students. My child was treated with zero care during lessons after a teacher named Amy Powell mistreated my child class 72a by wasting about 10 or 15 minutes of their lunch and unfortunately my child couldn’t eat lunch because the lunch lines got to full, and I can not blame my child for this because all the students in the class said the teacher deleted all their hard work on scratch because apparently “none of them were doing the work” so now I wouldn’t recommend this school to anyone and I will be taking this case up with their head of year because unfortunately my child is now crying because they have been wrongly accused for something they didn’t do and is one of the brightest child I’ve ever seen.
One teacher sent in appropriate images - keep your kids away
My son came home from school with an inappropriate image of a member of staff on his phone and that staff member still works at madeley academy! I have spoken to his tutor about this and all she will tell me is that the school have looked into it amd found no evidence of it.

My life at Madeley academy
I was at this school from September 2018 till September 2020 and I was bullied everyday. I had meetings with the school about the bullying but they never did anything. I was threatened by other students such as setting my hair on fire. I was called names. I was kicked in the leg, had a door shut on me while I was walking through it, had a bag chucked at me. And yet the teachers never did anything. I didn't get the help that I needed for my Adhd. And in pe once I was made to do fitness in the fitness gym and then run. When I told them I cannot do too much exercise because of my hip they didn't care and still told me to run. The sandwichs were stale.
It’s a pretty good school overall
Most of the teachers are nice but a few young ones that try too hard to fit in with the students. It’s difficult to concentrate in class as there’s 30+ students.

worst school ever. i hate it there and the students nor teachers are respectful to anyone its apauling and i do not recommend, i’ve found multiple hairs in my food and gum all over the tables! absolutely disgusting!!
MENTAL HEALTH
I was feeling like I wanted to kill myself today, I was sat in class on the verge of tears, my teacher came over and told me to do my work. I'm now in the hospital. ✌ but aside from that, I went to the mental health department and they sent me home and told me to go to the A&E.

I understand that schools need to have rules and procedures in place, particularly to manage behaviour, but I feel that some of the restrictions placed on Year 9 seem unnecessarily strict. Their year group has apparently been separated during lunch and break, meaning that students in different classes are unable to spend time together or see their friends. They are also reportedly not allowed to stand up during these periods, and when it rains, they are expected to remain seated.
As phones are also banned, the students have very limited opportunities to occupy themselves during their break and lunch times. I am concerned that these arrangements may be having a negative impact on the students’ social time and overall school experience.
I would appreciate some clarification as to why these particular restrictions have been introduced for Year 9 and whether they are temporary or intended to continue throughout the school year.
