If hell was a place

Are you looking to punish your children? Do you wish they would become factory created robots? Look no further! Magna academy is the right fit for your child. At magna academy you can experience immense bullying, which is amazingly delt with by staff doing absolutely fucking nothing! Here you can learn about how overpriced tiny portions of food can be, and how rude most staff are!
Through my 5 years at this school, i can confirm that not only will your child be pumped out like a machine-coded robot to be the same as everyone else, but they will also become so stressed that they break out in sweats of fear through the night, dreading the following school day! At line ups your child can be met with belittling teachers, yelling at them for no reason, simply for shits n gigs! Oh deary me is your skirt an inch above your knee? That's an immediate detention! Did you forget a single piece of writing because you were up all night completing your other mountain of homework? Detention for you! Did you by chance walk past a teacher and look at them? How dare you be so rude! Detention for you!
Do you appreciate preaching of individuality from the headmistress herself on the school website? Than come to magna, because that is a load of bollocks! At magna you can be expected to wear exactly the same uniform as everyone else. Oh and get this! At magna you will receive...🥁🥁🥁 zero days of non uniform a year! Wow! How amazing i dont get to wear my own clothes at school which would make me more comfortable and keep me focused, rather than the overpriced, dull, itchy ass dogshit they call a uniform!

Tread lightly at this school, your every move will be watched by the staff towering at the corner of each hallway, waiting for you to walk by so they can pounce at you for something. Their root of anger not even about you, but shit in their personal lives that they take out on us, here. The so called "support team" do jackshit, and just act as though we are exaggerating. "Oh, your mum just passed away, but you came to school because you didnt want to get told off? Too bad. You're late. Thats a half hour detention for you!".

Save your child from the hell and torture that is magna academy. Guarded by the gargoyle-like teachers who expect us to be full grown adults by the age of 15. "You're not children anymore, you dont need to have fun in school". Yes we fucking do, because unless my research is incorrect, 15 is still a child 😊 so let us be kids please🙏. Also, what the actual fuck is that rule they tell us where we can't be seen having fun outside of school when wearing our magna uniforms? So much for a welcoming school when they don't want people to know that any kids laughing outside of school, go to magna. Heaven forbid I wear a crop top outside of school and a passerby sees im from magna. Whatever will the shit prison of a school do!

Anyways, spare your child their life and keep their wellbeing by not sending them to this school.

Do not send your kids

This is the worst school ever, and Im not even being dramatic at this point.
The teachers are all perverts, who are constantly commenting on our skirt lengths(including male teachers). There are only a handful of teachers who seem like they actually care about helping us learn, and dont just hate kids. They are completely unfriendly to autistic children, who may need headphones for auditory reasons, and dont allow fidget toys as they "distract the class".

We aren't allowed upstairs during break or lunch, even for a necessary reason, even then lunch is only 25 minutes long, and break only 10! Compared to other schools such as Parkstone grammar, who get an hours lunch per day.

This school is so mentally and physically draining, i cant even begin to describe it. Many students here wake up in the mornings, scared for the day ahead, because of the school itself. Curriculum is messed up, and doesnt teach us stuff we will actually need in the future; such as how to pay bills, do a successful interview, and even how to apply for a mortgage. These are things we are not taught, and will lead us to being unable to function properly in society.

We are given homework every day, due the following day, and way too much of it per day.
School food is horrible. For a start, they serve overpriced food for bad quality, and a few years ago were having kids in hospital for food poisoning.

We have no non-uniform days, not a single one! Students are restricted all year round to the very limited uniform policy.

They act like they care, but they dont

Not autism friendly

My child would come back to school sometimes in a bad mood but also in tears. Where do I start?

The school is definitely not 'Outstanding' anymore (rated by Ofsted)

My child would come back home crying to me about kids calling them names, being bullied physically and mentally. What did the school do? Nothing.

The corridors are always full of screaming kids, kids being pushed and shoved, running around. This sounds like a nightmare of what some people have to deal with while trying to get to their lesson.

For my autistic child, they do not provide any quiet rooms. I heard that my child gets told off for wearing headphones in the corridors, when they're sensitive to sound.

The children only have 25 minutes to eat during lunch which I find unfair, I feel awful for the canteen children who have to queue up for a long time.

The toilets are absolutely disgusting, apparently there has been food shoved down the toilet or in a sink, girls' used period pads left laying around, number ones or twos left unflushed, never any soap, people writing inappropriate things on walls. Plus I have also heard that the toilets are for all genders (boys AND girls use them).

One day, my child was ill and went to the medical, they sent them back to lessons refusing to call me and told them "you'll be fine after you have a drink". The next day, they have been tested positive for covid. So god knows how many kids caught covid after this.

Some teachers are brilliant but most are terrible at their job, bullying is allowed in lessons, talking, messing around, throwing things around the classroom. The teachers give these kind of children millions of warnings but never send them out. I know a lot of teachers who have left due to the behaviour at this school. For example, I spoke to some of my child's teachers and they have said "I need to work somewhere quieter", "I just hate that kids who speak rudely to me get away with anything".

So overall, I would not recommend taking your child to this school. Plus, ofsted, CHANGE THE SCHOOL RATING!!!!!!!

Bullying is not dealt with effectively

I only wish we had put our children in a different school. Now they’ve made a couple of friends they don’t want to start all over again at a new school so we are stuck.

Communication is AWFUL which feeds in to many of the other problems that exist.

No lockers for children to put their belongings in, meaning on a PE day they have to carry their normal bag, PE bags and coats around from class to class. The ridiculous rule of no coats inside the building sees children having to take coats off in the playground even when it’s raining or -5 degrees, or they face a sanction.

If your child suffers from any type of bullying, be prepared to endure months and months of ‘restorative meetings’ between your child and the bully….. with a huge chunk of that being a completely pointless waste of time when you realise that nothing changes afterwards.

Students are rude to staff (often in front of parents) and nothing is done. Some students have been rude to other parents and have faced no serious sanctions of any kind. The sanctions in place for any bad behaviour do not act as enough of a deterrent for the atrocious behaviour that we’ve witnessed and been told about by our children. You cannot get a meeting with the Principal easily and emails are often ignored.

If you can get your child into ANY other school in the Poole area, then do it. Magna should only be attended as a complete last resort.

I wish I didnt go to school here.

This school in short sucks. I currently attend this school, and while its education is considered exceptional across Britain, the students are treated like dirt. How are we supposed to treat the teachers with respect, when they themselves lack to show respect to us. The uniform is extremely uncomfortable, and expensive. Which makes it difficult for many families(including my own) to be able to afford it. Leaving us with no choice but to have to find the best substitutes to make up for it. When those barely noticeable substitutes are noticed by teachers, we are scolded, and given unnecessary detentions, which are often hours long. I am lucky enough to have never had to buy food from the canteen, as I always bring packed lunch. However, for the students that do were( in some cases) sent to hospital with food poisoning. That is not even an exaggeration, it genuinely happened. Not to mention how pricey the food, and drinks are too. Which adds to how I KNOW that the school would take any opportunity to earn money, even if it has no benefit to us, nor our learning. On days when we have inspectors of the school, many students have spoke of how there is a NOTICEABLE difference in how the teachers treat us. On any normal day we are yelled at for no reason, however when we are being reviewed, the school acts kinder, and let's us off the hook with things;only to set detentions the very next day. As someone who has been harassed by many of the teachers, I (along with numerous other students) have experienced being told by teachers that we look "inappropriate", and "distracting", simply as they cannot keep their eyes off our legs, and the length of our skirts. Which in that case, is the fault of the staff members, not us students who are just trying to be comfortable, and feel safe in our uniform. There are only a select few teachers who are kind, and treat us with decency and respect. Numerous students are scared to go to school each morning, worried that there may be something about them which they teachers could find a reason to scold them by. Whether they wore the "wrong coloured sock", or have cycling shorts on(which are also banned as they are too "distracting". Aswell as bullying being entirely ignored, and students with sensory disorders told to "stop being fussy".
In short, I do not reccomend that you/or your child go to this school.

It’s pretty okay

To be honest Magna Academy is a mixed opinion school. Sometimes I like it sometimes I hate it. For example you can get a detention for the littlest thing possible, like forgetting a piece of equipment 3 times. But some people literally bad mouth the teachers and don’t get anything it. Also, the canteen is a total rip off for 70p for 1 single donut, when you can get 5 for £1 in surrounding shops. The lunch lady’s are moody and all they care about is people buying their food. Disappointing.

Magnas teachers are very enthusiastic and strict in a good way. And you learn a lot

Awful

Magna academy is a rubbish school , they pretend to care about the students simply to get a good Ofsted review when they treat us like literal dog water . Alot of the teachers are homophobic and dont actually give us any guidance or help with the work . They give detentions for the littlest things and even disqualified a girl from sports day simply for wearing black ankle socks instead of white ankle socks . Students with mental health issues are treated like dog water and arent given the help they may need . The school canteen recently got new caterers(cooks) , and children have been getting food poisoning from there . Students are bullied repetitively and little to nothing is done about it . Magna Academy care more about a good Ofsted review than actually giving students a happy time at the school . Alot of kids are scared to go to school each morning , worried that they could have done something wrong , whether it's the wrong coloured sock , or forgetting their hair bands for p.e e.t.c . Ever since I started school here , my mental health has deteriorated so much.
