Don't join this school

Ever since joining this school I have started thinking violent thoughts and at one time I even thought about commiting suicide, I have had rocks thrown at me when walking home and was harrased in my own neighbourhood. I'm worried that I will be attacked if they found out where I lived and even though staff and the police try nothing changes. I'm forced to be social outcast and skip events I want to do out of fear. Don't enroll your child unless you want to be a parent of a bully or have your child come home crying

Year 7-11

Absolutely shit

This school is absolutely rubbish, the students, the teachers and the building. The teachers do not care about any of the students mental health or anything

Send your kids anywhere else

If I could leave a - score I would, terrible school they are only interested in students who are getting A’s
If your child needs any help they are not interested. They never informed me my child was being bullied, they spoke to me like rubbish and were all round terrible, I had my 18 year old daughter cry recently telling me all this, I emailed them and never heard back

School that supports bullying

Not interested when bullying is going on..blame the person who getting bullied and then tell them they should look at themselves and see what they are doing wrong..not even spoke to the bullies

ks3 + 4 education (9 gcses at the end of it)

if you aren't a minority its OK I guess

I spent 5 years at the school
school was way too focused on it's image to even consider students most of the time
I had some special needs and it took until the very end of y8 to even be acknowledged and even then barely anything was done
bullying came in large amounts and nothing was done
meetings were scheduled and never happened
good things: I got along well with teachers and once you can get on the wellbeing program having a mentor completely turned my life around

Mangotsfield creates problems

They don't deal with behaviour, if you get harassed or sexually assaulted they couldn't care less and don't deal with it.

Praises

I'm a current pupil and I think the school has really improved. The leadership team are great with dealing with bullying and other stuff on the rare occasions that it happens. Lessons are fun and interactive with great teachers. Uniform is smart and is generally worn correctly!

Worst years of my life.

So many things to list..

A student lit a flare on the field.

A supply teacher was being inappropriate with students and the head teacher was more focused on it keeping quiet than helping the students.

I was assaulted by another student and the school only acted after the police were involved.

At least 70 percent of the students have no respect and bully constantly.

The school is so pre-occupied with its 'image' that so many of these issues went unaddressed.

A teacher was found to have made inappropriate videos which were spread around the school.

The only positive was that SOME of the teachers were actually focused on the students.

Sorry not sorry

One kid in my science class threatened ** **** ** and I was accused of lying. They did almost nothing, and only kicked him out when they found weed on him (although they knew beforehand that he smoked and vaped).

1 teacher was kicked out for****** ************ ******* as students found her on YouTube.
Another teacher somewhat left as almost every student in the school****** *** ********** ******* in the maths classroom (he was a substitute).

If you’re being bullied, or have been beat up almost nothing happens and half the time you get in trouble for self defence.

For about 2 years whilst I was there, there were ‘red card runs’ students ran through school, threw bins etc and received detention. (If they were caught on camera).

Most students disrespect the teachers. And a lot of the students are bullies.
