Bad bad school
Alright but has major flaws
Honestly I had a semi decent relationship with the school, though there are definitely some teachers there who do really care about their students, there is also some issues within particular members of staff such as unapproachability or straight up narcissism.
I found that I wasn’t supported enough here as a student who is disabled, the SEN department was very unapproachable and I was never given much assistance in that regard in class or regarding homework other than exams.
The leadership of the school is somewhat strong in my opinion but it did genuinely feel like at points that they never fully cared about student welbeing and only about turning in good grade results to the Trust. It felt like the headteacher was disconnected from the actual school community
That being said though, there were absolutely some great pastoral teachers and house leaders who always went above and beyond to support particular students who were going through bad times and I commend them for it.
Regarding bullying in my opinion it was dealt with very inconsistently, with some teachers in my experience straight up consistently witnessing it but never going ahead to report it. When bullying was dealt with it was usually done pretty effectively but this wasn’t always the case.
The reason my review score overall is so high despite what I said is because generally I still had a good time at Marshland, but there are definitely some major flaws within the school that I cant overlook
I graduated about 2 years ago now so i still feel like my opinions and experiences of the school may still be relevant as i only left fairly recently
