dont send ur kids here istg

words cant explain how BAD this school is, the amount of racism and sexism etc that goes around at this school is crazy, literally the only good thing at the school is the food. dont get me started on the teachers and their rules, some of the teachers i wont say who are vile to me for literally no reason its always me who they target in class, the head teacher is bad aswell the old one was way better, the rules are bad too, you’re not allowed to wear any bracelets and necklaces have to be under your shirt, whats the point of wearing one then ☠️ and jewellery apparently “distracts peoples learning” yeah cause everyones gonna be staring at my bracelet the whole day? honestly some of the teachers have no brains here and nothing is done about the bullying. if i needed to talk about something i needed help with to anyone the last person i would talk to is the teachers. i hope this school gets burned to the ground

Do not send your child here

This school is terrible at letting students express themselves to make them feel more comfortable at school purely because the leadership teams soul purpose is to focus on what the public eye think of the school as a whole. Teachers are degrading and very condescending, you will get the odd teachers that actually know how to do their jobs but most of them forget they work with teenagers. They preach about wanting students to do well but they make it hard for a child to want to be there if anything. This school is disgusting and the pastoral welfare team are disrespectful and make it very clear when they favour one child over another.

My experience

I have been going to this school for a while now and have had multiple issues with students and staff members.

With the school you can have teachers who are absolutely nice to you, and then you have the ones who think because they’re a teacher they can treat you vile. As someone who suffers from a lot of issues, having a teacher (like the second example) doesn’t mix very well and you basically just have to deal with it.

From when I first started to now, it has changed, some of the changes are good and some are just absolutely awful. An example of an awful rule that I don’t think should be one is roll-call, not only does this make the students feel like they’re in prison, it also feels like a way for teachers to single out the students who haven’t got the right school uniform on (this is with shoes).

This year they have started to give us daily homework online with Seneca, they told us that it’s only meant to take us an hour. The amount of work there is, is unbelievable. It gets to the point where we get so stressed out to the point we can’t do it. If you don’t do the homework, you’ll be given a behaviour point (this can lead to a DT).

A lot of bullying happens in the school but sometimes it doesn’t get resolved. The only time that I have had my bullying resolved is when a parent went into the school and got it sorted out of me. It just makes you feel as if you can’t tell some teachers what’s happening because they won’t do anything. This also happens depending on the student, it feels as if some of the students get “babied” by the teachers and if you say something about the student they won’t do anything about it. Other than that, they can be decent with resolving bullying

Shocking and inhumane.

Rude, arrogant, unhelpful attitude from staff, bullying gets overlooked. Any questions or concerns you may have, you are made to feel stupid by the staff, they will go out of their way to make sure they can be as unhelpful as possible, can only image how the pupils are spoken to.
Strict on image, but not education, pupils in pain with new shoes are not allowed to wear black trainers when asked numerous times due to raw skin on back of heels, yet pupils distributive in classes but that is allowed as no1 can see what they are wearing, a shame for the pupils that do want to learn how to dress appropriately and when singled out in lessons due to bullying will get a detention for lack of work. avoid at all costs if you care about your child. Drugs and smoking seems normalised, saw children sitting outside gates smoking with staff.
A school for the gram, not the care or education for pupils.
Google won’t even allow you to review that says it all.

Nope. Not a good choice.

Overall, the teachers can be nice but the staff are way kinder. The teachers really don't care about others copying your work and whilst most teachers can be kind, others are just super strict, annoying or they don't understand anything you're going through. And then there's the students. The horrible students. Swearing, fights, arguments, language used in a negative way against LGBTQ+ community, ect... it's hard finding nice people in Milton. I'm telling ya'!!!

EDL in training

I’m convinced most EDL members start here. The amount of slurs I’ve heard, someone I didn’t even know existed.

The school changed...

My experience at this school started off great but as time went on some issues became apparent. A change in leadership caused the school dynamics to change with a higher turnover of staff. Departments such as the drama department changed to suit musical theatre students rather than those who wanted to do drama GCSE and the amount of clubs available decreased. Some of The pastoral staff were excellent but others were very unapproachable and made it blatantly obvious if they didn’t like a student. The sports department was excellent with the teachers being very experience and supportive. The area of the school where children who needed extra learning support or had an SEN plan also needed to be reviewed as when a new SENCO was out in place the targeted support for the students who needed it most lessened as more and more students who were sometimes just having a bad day could access the suite which made the one room suite loud and more crowded than a classroom which isn’t ideal for students who are disabled or students with sensory impairments. The school also ignored severe mental health problems in students despite lessons being disrupted with student and teacher safety sometimes being put at risk whilst the student in need wasn’t getting the correct support and their peers also weren’t. Many of the teachers also didn’t listen to their students needs such as if they struggled to cope being in a certain set and needed to be moved so often students were left in sets where the work demand was too challenging for them or equally too easy for them as the teachers focused on the students that would do well or who they favoured. Overall, it became clear how a change in leadership roles impacted the workings of the school and the happiness of both the staff and students changed.
