Monkfield Park Primary School

Asking our child and her friends about their experience in this school, they all expressed concerns about:
- how teachers public shame students and the detrimental effect this has on confidence
- how teachers seem to deny bullying and punish pupils who report that they have been bullied
- how pupils from ethnic minorities feel they are targeted by teachers etc.
In fact, one of the only reasons I gave two stars in this review is because the Friends of Monkfield Park charity, which raises funds to aid the school, is doing a brilliant job.
That said the fundamental problem remains poor leadership, staff attrition and inexperience, and lack of external oversight.

I left this school 6 years ago and events that took place here still bother me. I was bullied almost everyday to the point where I didn’t wanna come in and didn’t for a while. The teachers did absolutely nothing about it. I was struggling with my learning and my mum went in to ask them what she could do to help me, they then told me the next day that my mum was disappointed in me and didn’t want me anymore. I was denied help with my learning and With the bullying. Same with my friends and siblings.
