Shambolic

Absolutely diabolical school! Bullying is rife and the victims are the ones who get punished. The safeguarding is nonexistent. I can't stress enough how shambolic this school is! The head couldn't run a bath let alone a school!

Horrible for anyone who isn't a straight white cis man.

The school really isn't as good as it's made out to be. Most teachers are nice and helpful though some are far too close minded to be working with children of these days. The schools got a horrible bullying problem and they do absolutely nothing about it. They don't put effort into educating us on LGBTQ issues, the most I was ever taught was a 15 minute YouTube video during form time and that's it. A lot of the teachers are also openly homophobic and/or transphobic. I don't feel safe in this school at all. It only helps the academically talented students whilst the rest of us are left to attempt it on our own to 'build our independence'. Neurodivergent kids are also shoved off to the side and I have been belittled by both fellow students AND teachers for my needs. Teachers often accused me of forging bathroom and exit passes, thus not allowing me to go. The teachers don't read their students files which just makes the whole situation harder on both the teacher and student. I'm leaving this may and am counting down the days, I can't wait to leave.

I hate this place

This school made me want to cry every day. The school has a really bad bullying problem where it doesnt actually stop people from getting hurt. They refuse to educate people on how not to abuse others in relationships and when people come forward with evidence of bullyiny there still turned away. Even in pride month the school has refused to actually educate people on anything relating to the Lgbtq+ community. It also only praises people who do well and gives them extra help gaining the school they want, everyone else is forced to try and do it alone. The teacher arent the problem, they usually try to do there job but they are given to high expectations for a extremely understaffed team.

Personally i dont think this is a good school but i doubts it the worst.

No one is real

Too Many NPCs. They're everywhere. I'm telling almost no one is actually real in this school.

A levels

This school is a joke

Most of the teachers are brilliant. Very friendly as long as you get along with your work and behave however half the students have no respect for the teachers and don't do this so it causes issues. The current head teacher is trying to look inclusive by adding a gender and sexuality alliance club for the school but yet would not send out resources provided to him on educating about transgenders during lgbtq+ history month because of it's controversial nature. The school does nothing for any form of bullying just sits the kids down and gives the bully a slap on the wrist and then they're off the hook. As for mental well being support it is the most dreadful experience when given counselling you are assessed and then put on a waiting list that they don't even give you an estimated waiting time because they prioritise you. I've been waiting 3 weeks and I know a friend who has been waiting 4 months. Most of the teachers are so stretched for time as they have to teach years 7 to 13 with each year (apart from 12 and 13) having around 300 students + which leaves them no decent amount of time to support their A level students. 6th form students also don't even have a common room or any decent facilities to work with. They have a resource centre which has to be shared with all years and something like 30 laptops with only about 20-25 of them which will actually work. Teachers are leaving left, right and centre and all Hugo Hutchinson seems to do is walk around the school and do barely anything.

bit shit really

i would say 2.5 but i can’t. the lesson choice for gcses is alright, but there is a really bad bullying problem. i’ve personally experienced homophobia, transphobia and harassment and when i went to the teachers about death threats from some individuals, nothing was really done that i know of, so yeah.

Needs to fix homophobia

Honestly I think my school is great! But there are some flaws. I have noticed that my school is filled with homophobic people or people that make homophobic comments. I’ve heard people calling others the f-slur and the t-slur. It’s genuinely so upsetting because my school has a stick no bullying policy and normally deals with bulling very well. Monmouth Comp school is a excellent school to go to, the vary of lessons is very fun! I have enjoyed learning Welsh and more French. The outdoor environment is so good, the school has a great litter policy. I hope the school sorts out the homophobia because other then that it’s amazing!
