Love this place!

Nairn Academy is a fine institution for young people. Yes, it has its faults and whatnot, but there is a new school being built in the next few years and the current plans for it are sound. The students and staff members are amongst some of the finest in the area. The amount of support for the younger pupils is incredible and is often looked up to by other schools. The teachers are kind-hearted and hard working and there are large numbers of former pupils that are currently working hard in some of the finest places for further education in the whole country. Overall, Nairn Academy is a great place to work and learn in, and the whole philosophy of Team Nairn is only going to get stronger in the years to come!

Dead naming, bullying! Protect your child and avoid this school!

Deadnaming causing absences, which the school will not confirm how these absences are recorded. Requested sensitive data without consent or transparency. Dont involve pupils or parents in decision making. Fail to adhere to educational legislation. Argumentative head teacher. Staff dont deal with bullying, just help the victim to build up resilience. Awful school. Avoid!

No discipline, not great environment

I found in nairn discipline within the classroom was atrocious, the teachers could not keep control of the class and it could be half way through the lesson before any teaching would start. Outside of the classroom discipline was also very bad, people would chew sticky notes and throw them at you, throw coins at you, etc. A few of the staff were helpful and understanding and really tried to get the best out of you but many of the teachers could not care less about the students. A few of my friends attended Elgin High School and Culloden Academy and have found the education system a lot better there than i did in Nairn so they are two very good alternatives to Nairn Academy.

go somewhere else!

absolutely horrible, i had the worst experience there to the point i had to move school. harassment and bullying went on for years and teachers don’t seem to care. i barely learnt anything because the staff was extremely unhelpful. the school is falling apart and there is asbestos in the walls. some classrooms have celling tiles on their last leg that could fall on a child at any moment. do not recommend -a previous student
