Newent Community School and Sixth Form Centre

I am currently a student at newent community school in y7 and teachers act like they are going to deal with the situation but in reality they don't.For example i was burned by an older student by them heating a spoon with a lighter and all they did was suspend him for a week.this school is horrible and i would not recomend

I know people who go there and they say the well being and behavior of kids there is appauling

Very bad worst school I have ever worked at

Had to leave after 2 years after I recieved physical violence from another peer. Principal, head of house, and Safeguarding staff refused to do anything about it. Teachers are mostly good a couple can't control a class properly, couple really put in the effort. Don't go to this school unless your child is social enough, quiet kids like myself have/will struggle A LOT.

-Mostly a good school.Teaching generally not bad. How well you do academically is up to how much effort you decide to put in.

-Sixth form seems a bit of an after thought though. Management don’t seem to check on whether the teachers are actually supporting sixth form students properly. You’ll need to do the vast majority yourself.

100% not a community school.this school has no shame.I’m possibly disgusted. The teachers seem to scare more about what you look like. What you’re wearing. Rather than how the student is. Instead of asking us to tuck our shirts in maybe ask how we are??? A community school should be against racism and should preach about how it shouldn’t be used from students. Yet the teachers are acting like hypocrites. I’ve heard the head of my year use a slur and I’ve heard multiple teachers spit shame on other cultures. Another thing is nose peircings for Asian students. From what people tell me teachers mix up religions and cultures. I was told a girl had a nose piercing in for cultural reason yet the teacher continuously argued agains her and that she was wearing it for the wrong reasons. Who is a teacher not of her culture to tell her. Yet this tecaher was also uneducated. I’m disgusted. In assemblys kids are being told that racism is againt yet teachers are going against their own rules. Students feel uncomfortable in situations because of this. This school has really gone downhill. Additionally miss Burke needs to take her dog home. No one wants to see it please take it home. Thank you

No longer a community sch. They don’t understand the mental health needs of children. Particular teacher are bullies themselves, they shout rather than talk to pupils and wonder why they’re not respected. They criticise the pupils about their dress code yet the teachers dress code is appalling. Children sent to isolation because teachers can’t be bothered to listen to their needs.

the teachers didnt care about your mental health they dont teach you at all and the nurse is a dickhead who thinks she better then everyone else the teachers get bullied and cant handle some teenagers and they send you into iso for no reason i hate the school thats why im moving

I have never had such nice teachers who care about me as an individual. Not only teachers but other members of staff. That would be my favourite part of the school. I would recommend Newent, having spent a year at a different school, is see that newent is so much better.

"we have a great team that wants to help" it's all lies. they don't care about you and they don't care about your mental or physical health. Don't go if you want to enjoy secondary school, it's a shithole and all the staff are only in it for the money.

Not as good as they make it out to be and don’t do anything about bullying

The school claim its an amazing school but its rubbish. They do nothing if your getting bullied, teachers don't actually teach you learn nothing.DONT GO
