Newport high is a hostile environment please read the following, teachers only care how to school is portrayed but still do nothing to help the students succeed or feel in a safe and supported environment. Students mostly have supply lessons for lessons so aren’t learning a thing, when help is needed they will turn a blind eye but then gossip in staff areas about students. Have no idea how to resolve problems instead they just label the child and put negatives on the system without actually looking into the problem. Overall most children feel lost and not wanted in the environment the teachers are miserable and project it onto the students creating an overall negative environment. There’s no encouraging or uplifting words exchanged to students and they wonder why the behaviour is poor it must be so draining to be there basically every day with that type of staff running it. And it’s because there’s a hierarchy in the school at the top you have the slt, the headteacher, deputy head, head of years and so on then there’s just the normal teachers. I’ve gotten information about these teachers views on their own workplace and they’re not too happy either they don’t get support from these higher up teachers or if they do say they will it never ends up happening so I can imagine how frustrated they are as-well even if they don’t seem it, they are. There’s no positive action or equality in this school and its affecting everyone in it there’s absolutely no sense of community, and it’s the children who attend this school that are stereotyped or labelled as troubled but do we ever think of how a good environment can really change one’s behaviour it’s obviously that this toxic environment made by staff has and is affecting the children. With one quick google search you can see the schools rating is in red which really isn’t a surprise.
In conclusion I would definitely not send your child to this school unless you want the worse for them if I’m being truthful it’s an easy way to degrade them, make them feel belittled and expose them to negativity. I must add the staff who portray this behaviour clearly are gill lee, Maria texira, Ann Marie cox and Rachel Morris. I feel it really is time to start calling them out they put on this kind and welcoming act but you really can see through it to the type of people they are. They don’t do stuff for the children’s sake they do it for their pay check, it’s very obvious they do not care about the children’s outcome when leaving the school instead they make the whole 5 years a whole lot harder for them than it should be which is probably why the exam pass rates are so low.

Awful school children are running around like animals it is run by the children not the teachers, They ring u at least five times a day about your kid and ask you what to do with them . The teachers lie all the time and there not teaching your kids because the are to busy phoning you . Got to be worst school in uk and bullying is bad but the teacher can’t do nothing about it

Some of the students are disrespectful to adults and junior school children aged eleven and under.
Great deal of antisocial behaviour, including bad language at the playground and racism.
I was once a student in that school. I never enjoyed it there. I suffered bullying for five whole years, physically and verbally. As soon as I finished, I left for college.
I will never recommend this school to parents and guardians.

Good school. Not good teachers.
